The 23andMe settlement claim form is no longer being accepted. The filing deadline was February 17, 2026, and the court granted final approval of the $30 million settlement on January 30, 2026. If you submitted a claim before the cutoff, there is nothing more to do right now: payments are on hold while 23andMe’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy reconciliation plays out, and the settlement administrator has warned the wait could run several months or longer.
What It Means if You Didn’t File
The settlement website does not list any option for late claims.123andMe Data Settlement. In re: 23andMe, Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation Class members who neither filed nor opted out by December 29, 2025, are still bound by the settlement’s release of claims against 23andMe, but they will not receive a cash payment or the monitoring benefit. The opt-out window has also closed, so pursuing a separate lawsuit over the October 2023 breach is no longer available through that route.
Who the Claim Form Was For
You qualified as a settlement class member if you were a 23andMe member between May 1, 2023, and October 1, 2023, lived in the United States during that period, and received a notice from 23andMe confirming your personal information was compromised in the attack.2ABC27. Claimants who had lost the notice could retrieve the ID on the settlement site by entering the email address tied to their 23andMe account.
The class was far wider than the roughly 14,000 accounts the attacker broke into directly. Because the attacker pulled profile and family tree data through the DNA Relatives feature, the class also included the approximately 5.5 million users whose profile information was scraped and the 1.4 million whose family tree data was accessed, even though their own login credentials were never stolen.
What the Three Claim Types Paid

The Extraordinary Claim, up to $10,000, covered documented out-of-pocket losses tied to the breach: identity theft protection costs, professional fees paid to resolve fraud, or losses from unauthorized financial transactions. This tier required supporting documentation, and claimants typically needed to upload receipts, bank statements showing fraudulent charges, or correspondence with credit bureaus. A written narrative explaining the specific steps taken and why they were necessary was expected on larger claims, so the administrator could judge whether the losses traced to the breach rather than a pre-existing problem. Time spent on breach-related tasks such as changing passwords or freezing credit required a sworn attestation of hours.123andMe Data Settlement. In re: 23andMe, Inc. What the Form Required
The form asked for legal name, current mailing address, a valid phone number, and the Unique Claimant ID from the settlement notice. Matching that information to 23andMe’s records was how the administrator verified identity. For statutory and health information claims, that plus a payment method selection was the whole submission. Extraordinary claims added the documentation and narrative described above.
How Claims Were Submitted
The official portal at 23andMeDataSettlement.com accepted claims electronically through an online form that walked users through each section and generated a confirmation code after filing. Paper submissions were also accepted: a printed form, filled out by hand with any supporting documentation attached, mailed to the settlement administrator and postmarked by February 17, 2026.123andMe Data Settlement. What To Do if You Already Filed
Nothing right now. The claim is in the queue, final approval is in place, and the delay is procedural rather than something a claimant can act on. Keep the confirmation code from your submission, watch the mailing address and email on file for updates, and check 23andMeDataSettlement.com periodically for the projected payment date, which the administrator has said will be posted as the bankruptcy proceedings move forward.
