Angelia “Angie” Solomon is charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder after allegedly trying to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband, former Nashville news anchor Aaron Solomon. The Angie Solomon murder-for-hire case began with an April 11, 2025, sting operation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in a Franklin, Tennessee, mall parking lot. She was arrested six days later, pleaded not guilty in July 2025, and is on house arrest while the case moves through Williamson County Circuit Court. A separate December 2025 indictment adds fraud and theft charges tied to a Franklin nonprofit.
The Alleged Meeting With an Undercover Agent
Prosecutors say Solomon met with an undercover TBI agent posing as a hitman on April 11, 2025, in the parking lot of the CoolSprings Galleria Mall.1Court TV. On the recording, Solomon allegedly said she wanted Aaron Solomon put “under the ground” and described the plan as “vigilante justice of the olden days.”
The agreed price was $5,000. Solomon allegedly told the agent she had no money upfront but offered to pay double later and handed over her vehicle registration as collateral.1Court TV. When the agent asked whether she understood Aaron Solomon would “be dead and he isn’t coming back,” Solomon reportedly confirmed she did.

Arrest, Bond, and House Arrest
After her April 17, 2025, arrest, Solomon was held in the Williamson County Jail on a $500,000 bond. Aaron Solomon is a former anchor at Nashville station WSMV. He and Angelia Solomon divorced in 2013.6Yahoo News. Grant Solomon, 18, was found trapped under his truck outside a baseball training center in Gallatin, Tennessee, on July 20, 2020, and died on the way to the hospital. Angelia Solomon and some relatives disputed that finding. On January 8, 2014, however, Williamson County courts and the Tennessee Department of Children Services ruled that abuse allegations against Aaron Solomon were “unfounded,” and the court found Angelia Solomon to be “dishonest in her testimony.”8The Tennessean. Separate Fraud Charges Involving a Franklin Nonprofit
While the murder-for-hire case was pending, a Williamson County Grand Jury returned a separate indictment against Solomon on December 3, 2025. She was charged with one count of felony criminal simulation and one count of misdemeanor theft of $1,000 or less, along with co-defendant Melanie Lisa Hicks.4WSMV. The indictment alleges that between March 7 and March 11, 2025, the two women defrauded GraceWorks, a faith-based Franklin nonprofit, by altering a document to make it appear to have a value it did not actually possess and taking $1,000 or less “without the owner’s effective consent and with the intent to deprive the owner thereof.” Hicks was previously named alongside Angelia Solomon as a co-defendant in an earlier civil suit brought by Aaron Solomon.9Tennessee Courts.
