Arcis Golf LLC Settlement: $950K Data Breach Claims and Deadlines

A federal judge in the Northern District of Texas gave final approval to the Arcis Golf data breach settlement on November 18, 2025, resolving a class action over a November 2023 cyberattack that exposed the personal information of roughly 53,334 current and former employees. Under the deal, Arcis Golf LLC agreed to pay $950,000 into a non-reversionary fund covering class member payments, attorneys’ fees, administrative costs, and service awards.¹

Who Was Covered and What They Could Claim

The settlement class included approximately 53,334 U.S. residents who received a notice from Arcis Golf stating that their personal information was or may have been compromised in the breach.²

Eligible class members could file for two types of benefits:³

Reimbursement of up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket expenses traceable to the breach, including identity theft losses, credit monitoring fees, and administrative costs such as postage.
A flat pro rata cash payment, estimated at $50 and subject to adjustment based on the number of claims filed, capped at $300 per person.

The total combined benefit for any single class member was capped at $5,000. Arcis Golf also agreed to implement improved data security measures as part of the settlement.²

Key Deadlines

The claim filing deadline was October 21, 2025. The deadline to opt out or file an objection was September 22, 2025.³ Those dates have passed. If you received a notice but did not file, the claim window is closed.

What Was Exposed in the Breach

On or around November 16, 2023, an unauthorized third party accessed Arcis Golf’s computer network and acquired files containing employee data.⁴ The compromised information included names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, bank account numbers, and Social Security numbers.⁵

Arcis completed its internal investigation by May 28, 2024, and began notifying affected individuals on or around June 27, 2024, roughly seven months after the incident.⁶ Arcis has not publicly disclosed the specific type of attack or the vulnerability exploited.

What the Lawsuit Alleged

Named plaintiff Carl Boles filed the class action on July 17, 2024, and Brian Clapp later joined as a second named plaintiff. The case, Boles v. Arcis Golf LLC, No. 3:24-cv-01823, was assigned to Senior Judge David C. Godbey.¹

Plaintiffs alleged that Arcis Golf stored sensitive employee information in an unencrypted and unredacted format, making it vulnerable to theft.⁴ The complaint also called the company’s notification letter “no real disclosure at all,” faulting it for failing to identify the perpetrators, explain when the intrusion was first detected, describe the vulnerabilities exploited, or spell out what steps had been taken to prevent future incidents.

Fees, Service Awards, and Case Status

Class counsel Raina C. Borrelli of Strauss Borrelli PLLC and John Nelson of Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman, PLLC requested up to $313,500 in attorneys’ fees and up to $20,000 in litigation expenses from the fund, plus $5,000 service awards for each named plaintiff.³ Any residual funds after distribution were designated to go to the Texas Bar Foundation or another court-approved nonprofit.⁷

Judge Godbey granted preliminary approval on June 23, 2025, held the final approval hearing on November 12, 2025, and entered final judgment on November 19, 2025, dismissing the claims with prejudice. The docket reflects no objections from class members.¹
