Arhaus Settlement: Claims, Payouts, and Key Dates

The Arhaus settlement is a $6 million class action resolution over allegations that Arhaus displayed inflated “original” prices next to sale prices on its website to make discounts look larger than they were. The company denies wrongdoing. The claim filing deadline was December 19, 2025, and a final approval hearing was set for February 19, 2026.¹

What Arhaus Was Accused Of

The lawsuit, Mariah Moses, et al. v. Arhaus, Inc., was filed on April 2, 2024, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. It alleged that Arhaus ran a “false reference pricing scheme” on its website, listing products with a crossed-out higher price next to a lower sale price to create the impression of a steep discount, even though the higher price was never a genuine selling price.²

The complaint pointed to specific items. The named plaintiff bought a Paraiso 3-Tier Lantern for $34 against a strikethrough price of $139, which the suit alleged had not been the lantern’s price for at least 90 days before her March 2024 purchase. A Rowland Leather Six Piece Motion Sectional was advertised at $15,198 down from $26,894, a reference price the suit said was never real. A Henley Nightstand’s supposed “original” price actually rose over time, from $1,399 in 2022 to $1,699 by March 2024, while the sale price also climbed.²

The claims were brought under California’s Unfair Competition Law, False Advertising Law, and Consumer Legal Remedies Act. California requires that a reference price reflect the prevailing retail price during the three months before the advertised discount.²

Who Was Eligible

The settlement class covers California residents who bought one or more products on the Arhaus website between April 2, 2020, and September 18, 2024, where the listing showed both a current sale price and a higher reference price (whether or not the higher price was struck through).³

Purchases made in Arhaus stores were not covered, and anyone who already received a refund or credit for their order did not qualify. Current and former Arhaus officers, directors, and employees, the presiding judge, and class counsel were also excluded.⁴ The original complaint had sought a nationwide class, but the settlement was limited to California online purchasers.⁵

What Claimants Receive

The $6 million fund is allocated as follows: an estimated $4,245,000 for payments to class members, up to $1,500,000 in attorneys’ fees, up to $200,000 in administration costs, up to $50,000 in litigation expenses, and a $5,000 service award to the named plaintiff.⁵

Individual payments are pro rata, based on each claimant’s qualifying purchases relative to the total qualifying purchases claimed by everyone in the class. No claimant can receive more than 50% of the total amount they spent on qualifying purchases. Claimants chose between a cash payment by check or an Arhaus store credit gift card. Any unclaimed funds go to the National Consumer Law Center.⁴

Key Dates and Payment Timing

December 19, 2025 was the deadline to file a claim, opt out, or object.¹ The final approval hearing before Judge Fernando M. Olguin was scheduled for February 19, 2026. Preliminary approval was granted on August 25, 2025, after an initial motion was denied without prejudice in April 2025 and refiled.⁶

Under the settlement terms, payments are to be distributed within 45 days after the later of two events: completion of claims administration, or the court’s final approval, including the resolution of any appeals.⁵ Claims are administered by ILYM Group, Inc.³

If You Missed the Claim Deadline

The December 19, 2025 deadline was firm. Class members who did not file a claim by that date, and did not opt out, remain bound by the settlement’s release of claims but are not entitled to a payment from the fund. The court had not yet held the final approval hearing at the time the settlement website posted its deadlines, so the settlement itself remained subject to the February 19, 2026 hearing and any appeals that follow.¹

Arhaus agreed to the $6 million payment without admitting any wrongdoing.⁷
