The next deadline is December 31, 2025, and the renewal window opens in October 2025. Miss it, and late fees start accruing on February 1; let it slip past April 1, and the license is void.
Who Renews and When
The December 31 odd-year deadline covers individual pharmacist licenses along with retail pharmacy permits, out-of-state pharmacy permits, specialty pharmacy permits, and nursing home consultant pharmacist permits. Continuing Education You Need First
Renewal requires 30 hours of continuing education per biennium. Of those, at least 12 must be live contact hours and at least 12 must be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).2Code of Arkansas Rules. 17 CAR 160-803 Implementation of Pharmacy Continuing Education Those two minimums can overlap, so one live ACPE-accredited course can satisfy both. Arkansas does not require any of the 30 hours to focus on pharmacy law.
If you hold an Authority to Administer certification for immunizations and medications, at least 6 of the 30 hours must relate to that area of practice, and you must keep current CPR or Basic Cardiac Life Support certification throughout the renewal period.3Cornell Law Institute. How to Renew Online
All renewals go through the Board’s online licensing portal. You’ll need a computer or tablet plus your phone to run the Microsoft Authenticator app for multi-factor sign-in.4Arkansas Department of Health. Generic Instructions for the Already Licensed
First-time users of the new portal create an account, verify by email code, set a password, and scan a QR code to link the Authenticator app. When you link your existing license to the account, the name and details you enter must match Board records exactly. If you aren’t sure how your name appears on file, check the Board’s license verification site before you start; a mismatch blocks the link and forces a call to the Board to fix.4Arkansas Department of Health. Once you’re in, open the Renewals Page from the left menu. If the window is open, a renew button appears next to your license. Work through the listed requirements, then pay by credit card. What Renewal Costs
Statutory caps are set per year, and because renewal is biennial you pay two years at once.

Late Fees and the April 1 Cutoff
January is a grace month. No late fee accrues if you renew during January. On February 1, a penalty of up to $20 per month begins to accrue and keeps building each month the fee stays unpaid.5Justia Law. Arkansas Code 17-92-108 – Fees
April 1 ends the option to catch up quietly. If the renewal fee has not been paid by that date, the license or permit is null and void.6Justia. Arkansas Administrative Code, Division 39, Rule 007.39-20-003 – Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy Rules You can’t simply pay the overdue balance and go back to work. From there, it’s reinstatement.
Reinstating a Voided License
A pharmacist whose license has gone void pays $75 for each delinquent year or partial year, capped at $300, plus the current renewal fee.6Justia. Four or more delinquent years hits the $300 cap on top of the renewal.
If your license has been lapsed for more than two calendar years and you haven’t been actively practicing in another state, money alone won’t restore you. You must complete 40 hours of supervised practice under an Arkansas-licensed pharmacist for each year or partial year out of practice, up to 240 hours. Your supervising pharmacist documents those hours in writing to the Board. Pharmacy Technicians Renew on a Different Cycle
If you’re a pharmacy technician, the odd-year deadline above isn’t yours. Technician permits expire on December 31 of the first even-numbered year after issuance and renew every two years on that even-year cycle.9Cornell Law Institute. The annual technician renewal is capped at $35, so the biennial renewal runs up to $70. The same April 1 rule applies: an unpaid technician registration goes void after that date, and the reinstatement fee is capped at $40.9Cornell Law Institute.
