The AT&T breach settlement is a $177 million class action deal resolving claims from two 2024 data breaches that together exposed personal information belonging to more than 70 million people and call and text records for nearly every AT&T wireless customer. Documented financial losses can be reimbursed up to $5,000 or $2,500 depending on which breach caused them, and everyone else receives a pro rata share of what’s left. As of mid-2026, the settlement is still awaiting final court approval and no money has been paid out.
Who Qualifies

You fall into the AT&T 1 class if your personal information appeared in the dataset posted on the dark web in March 2024. That incident affected roughly 7.6 million current account holders and 65.4 million former ones, with exposed data dating from 2019 or earlier. Depending on the person, the leaked information could include names, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, AT&T account numbers, and account passcodes.2Panorays. You fall into the AT&T 2 class if your telephone number or call and text records were downloaded during the Snowflake cloud breach that AT&T disclosed in July 2024. That breach hit nearly all AT&T wireless customers, customers of mobile virtual network operators using AT&T’s network, and landline customers who had interacted with those wireless numbers during the covered period. The stolen records included phone numbers, interaction counts, aggregate call durations, and some cell-site identifiers, but not the content of calls or texts and not Social Security numbers or dates of birth.3Mozilla Foundation. How Much You Can Get
The $177 million is split into two non-reversionary funds: $149 million for AT&T 1 and $28 million for AT&T 2. Non-reversionary means anything left over doesn’t go back to AT&T. But before claimants see a dime, those funds pay attorney fees, litigation costs, administration expenses, and service awards to the named plaintiffs.6CCH. Documented Loss Payments
If you can show financial harm traceable to the breaches, you can claim reimbursement up to a cap:
- Up to $5,000 for AT&T 1 losses occurring in 2019 or later.
- Up to $2,500 for AT&T 2 losses occurring on or after April 14, 2024.

Tier Payments Without Documented Losses
Most people can’t produce a paper trail linking their identity theft, phishing calls, or lost time to these specific breaches. Those claimants get a pro rata share of whatever remains in the relevant fund after documented-loss claims, fees, and administration are paid out. The share depends on which tier you fall into:
- Tier 1 (AT&T 1): people whose Social Security numbers were exposed. Paid five times the Tier 2 amount.
- Tier 2 (AT&T 1): people whose other personal data was exposed but not their SSN.
- Tier 3 (AT&T 2): Snowflake-breach claimants without documented losses.
The exact dollar figures for these tiers aren’t set. They depend on how many valid claims come in, how much goes to documented-loss claims, and how much is deducted for fees and administration.8Telecom Data Settlement. The Claim Deadline Has Passed
The filing deadline was December 18, 2025. Claims could be submitted online at telecomdatasettlement.com or by mail through Kroll Settlement Administration, the court-appointed administrator. If you missed the deadline, the docket does show filings about late claims and requests to extend the opt-out deadline based on alleged inadequate notice, so late submissions are being litigated even if they aren’t guaranteed to be accepted.12CourtListener. When Payments Will Actually Arrive
No payments have been issued. The final approval hearing was held on January 15, 2026, after being rescheduled from December 3, 2025. As of mid-2026, Judge Ada Brown of the Northern District of Texas has not issued a final approval ruling. The docket reflects active post-hearing litigation, including objections from class members and motions related to deposing class counsel and the settlement administrator.12CourtListener. The court also appointed Richard J. Arsenault as Special Claims Administration Master in September 2025 to supervise fraud detection and resolve disputes over rejected or reduced claims. If your claim is denied or reduced, Arsenault’s rulings can be challenged by filing objections within 21 days; otherwise his findings stand.13U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas. What AT&T Is and Isn’t Admitting
