AT&T Settlement Email: How to Verify, File, and Get Paid

If you received an email from attsettlement@e.emailksa.com, it is a real notice. The AT&T settlement email was sent by Kroll Settlement Administration, the court-appointed administrator for AT&T’s $177 million data breach class action. The claim deadline passed on December 18, 2025, so new claims can no longer be filed. If you submitted one before that date, Kroll is still processing it, and the court has not yet issued final approval or set a payment date.

Why the Sender Address Looks Fake

The address throws people off because it contains no “att.com” and no obvious AT&T branding. The “ksa” stands for Kroll Settlement Administration, the company AT&T and the court hired to run the claims process. Kroll uses e.emailksa.com as its sending domain for settlement notices across many different cases, not just this one. Multiple news outlets have confirmed the address is legitimate, and the official settlement website identifies Kroll as the sole authorized administrator.1Time. How to Verify Before You Click

Scammers have built fake settlement sites and phishing emails designed to mimic the real ones. If anything about the message feels off, don’t click the links inside it. A real settlement notice will never ask for your Social Security number, bank account number, or credit card details by email. The claim form itself asks for a Class Member ID (included in your notice), an email address, an AT&T account number, or a full name for verification.5Telecom Data Settlement. What the Email Is About

The settlement resolves claims tied to two separate AT&T data breaches disclosed in 2024.

The first, announced March 30, 2024, involved a data set released on the dark web. Exposed records included names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, account passcodes, and billing account numbers, mostly dating from 2019 or earlier. It affected roughly 7.6 million current and 65.4 million former AT&T customers.6AT&T. Addressing Data Set Released on Dark Web1Time. AT&T Data Breach Settlement: How To File a Claim

The second, disclosed July 12, 2024, involved call and text message logs stolen from AT&T’s workspace on the Snowflake cloud platform. The data covered records from May through October 2022 plus a smaller batch from January 2023, and included phone numbers, interaction counts, and call durations, but not the content of calls or texts. It affected nearly all AT&T cellular customers and some landline customers whose numbers had interacted with affected lines.5Telecom Data Settlement. AT&T Data Incident Settlement7Mozilla Foundation. What Payments Could Look Like

The $177 million fund is split in two: $149 million for the March 2024 breach (AT&T 1) and $28 million for the July 2024 breach (AT&T 2). Both pools are non-reversionary, meaning any unclaimed money does not go back to AT&T. Before claimants are paid, each fund is reduced by administration costs, taxes, service awards capped at $1,500 per named plaintiff, and attorneys’ fees, which the plaintiffs’ lawyers have requested at $59 million total.9New Haven Register. Claims came in two forms. Documented loss claims paid up to $5,000 for expenses tied to the March 2024 breach (occurring in 2019 or later) and up to $2,500 for expenses tied to the July 2024 breach (incurred on or after April 14, 2024). People eligible under both breaches could file for both, with combined documented-loss payments reaching $7,500.5Telecom Data Settlement. AT&T Data Incident Settlement10Yahoo Finance. Claimants without documented losses were placed in tiered pro rata pools. For the March 2024 breach, Tier 1 (Social Security number exposed) receives five times the per-person amount of Tier 2 (other data exposed, no SSN). Tier 3 covers eligible AT&T 2 account owners. Actual payments depend on how many valid claims Kroll approves and how much is left after deductions, so per-person figures are not yet known.
