U.S. District Judge Ada Brown held the final approval hearing on January 15, 2026, but as of the settlement administrator’s most recent update on April 23, 2026, no ruling has been issued. The final approval hearing happened on schedule in January 2026. The court has not yet ruled. What Claimants Are Waiting to Receive
The $177 million fund covers two separate breach classes, and the payment a claimant qualifies for depends on which one applied.
The AT&T 1 class covers the March 2024 dark-web breach, which exposed Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, account passcodes, and other personal information belonging to roughly 7.6 million current and 65.4 million former customers.4AT&T. The AT&T 2 class covers the Snowflake-related breach disclosed in July 2024, which involved call and text metadata for nearly all AT&T cellular customers from May through October 2022, plus a small number of records from January 2, 2023.6Mozilla Foundation. After documented-loss claims are paid, remaining funds will be distributed on a tiered pro rata basis. In the first class, claimants whose Social Security numbers were exposed will receive five times what those without SSN exposure get. In the second class, account owners are eligible for pro rata shares. Actual per-person amounts depend on how many valid claims cleared and what remains after attorney fees, administration costs, and service awards.1Telecom Data Settlement. What Comes Out of the Fund First
Class counsel plan to request up to one-third of each settlement fund as attorney fees, plus litigation costs. Named class representatives are set to receive service awards of $1,500 each. Deadlines That Have Already Passed
Anyone who did not file a claim by December 18, 2025, cannot join now. Other AT&T Settlements Sometimes Confused With This One
The $177 million data breach settlement is not the AT&T data throttling case. That was a separate FTC enforcement action over throttled speeds on unlimited plans, resolved for $60 million in 2019, with additional refund rounds distributed as recently as April 2024.11FTC.
