Paying by Phone
Call 866-377-0765 with your citation number and a credit or debit card. The citation number is on the ticket left on your vehicle. Paying more than one at a time? Use your license plate (tag) number instead, and the system will pull up every outstanding ticket at once.1Baltimore City. One quirk: older Baltimore City citations used an 8-digit number. If yours is 8 digits, add a leading zero to make it 9 before entering it.2City of Baltimore. Vehicle Citations A convenience fee applies, so the amount charged will be slightly higher than the fine itself. Stay on the line until you get a confirmation number, and write it down. That’s your proof of payment if anything is disputed later.
If your car has been booted, do not use the online portal to pay. The city warns that online payment while a boot is on the vehicle can delay release and may lead to a tow. Call the PayLock hotline at 877-590-3757 instead, or pay in person.2City of Baltimore. Vehicle Citations
Why It’s Worth Calling Sooner Rather Than Later
Unpaid Baltimore parking tickets escalate quickly. After 52 days from the issue date, the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration adds a $30 flag fee, and the city may add a $25 registration flag on top of that. Once you have three or more citations that are each more than 30 days old, the city can boot your vehicle at any time. A tow can happen even earlier if you owe more than $1,000 in outstanding fines, have escaped a boot before, or are parked illegally when enforcement arrives. What the Call Center Can’t Do
You can’t contest a ticket by calling the Bureau of Revenue Collections. Trial petitions go directly to the District Court of Maryland: parking citations to 700 E. Patapsco Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21225, and camera citations to 5800 Wabash Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. The city also accepts trial petitions through its online portal, but only for citations issued within the last 45 days. After that, online is closed to you.5City of Baltimore. Online and In-Person Alternatives
The city’s payment portal is at pay.baltimorecity.gov/parkingfines. You can search by license plate or citation number and pay by card.2City of Baltimore. Vehicle Citations New citations can take up to two business days to appear, and payments up to three business days to show as processed.
