The 2025 changes did not touch emissions testing. Someone who has permanently relocated is expected to register the vehicle in the new home state.

The Three-Day Rule When You Bring the Car Back

Once the vehicle is back in Texas, you have three days from arriving at your home, duty station, or destination to complete the emissions inspection. What Happens If You Miss the Deadline
