Christian Keyes is currently involved in three overlapping legal disputes: a defamation cease-and-desist sent to him by former All the Queen’s Men castmate Skyh Alvester Black, a creative-credit and creative-control fight with Tyler Perry and Tyler Perry Studios over the BET+ series he created, and his own 2023 public allegations of sexual harassment against an unnamed “powerful man” in Hollywood whom a separate plaintiff has since publicly identified as Perry. As of the most recent reporting, no lawsuit has been filed by or against Keyes himself; the Perry-related litigation involves other plaintiffs.
The Skyh Black Cease-and-Desist
In December 2025, shortly after BET+ confirmed that All the Queen’s Men would end with its fifth season, Keyes posted a Facebook video accusing Skyh Alvester Black — who played Amp “Addiction” Anthony — of coming to set under the influence. Keyes said Black would be written out of the show and stated, “You don’t get to show up inebriated and brag about it.”1TMZ. Skyh Black Hits Christian Keyes With Cease and Desist
Black retained entertainment attorney Marty Singer, who sent a formal cease-and-desist letter in January 2026. Black’s legal team called Keyes’ statements “textbook defamation” and demanded a full retraction and public apology, describing the letter as Keyes’ “first and last chance to avoid litigation.”2TheGrio. All the Queen’s Men Creator Christian Keyes Sent a Cease and Desist by Skyh Black’s Legal Team Black also accused Keyes of bullying, alleging Keyes once yelled at him and called him “high as a kite” in front of roughly 300 cast and crew members, and said the public comments were retaliation for Black having confronted Keyes about a pattern of bullying other actors.3Blavity. Keyes removed the original Facebook video but did not issue a public apology. In it, he had acknowledged being “abrasive” toward a cast member who ad-libbed lines, calling a resulting workplace harassment complaint “false” and saying the actor later retracted it.4AOL. Queen Men Creator Christian Keyes A related YouTube video containing the remarks reportedly remained online as of late January 2026, and Black’s attorneys extended the cease-and-desist to Keyes and “anyone acting in concert” with him.5Complex. The Credit Fight With Tyler Perry
Keyes says he created All the Queen’s Men based on his novel Ladies Night, wrote the pilot, and holds a contract that entitles him to a “created by” credit. He alleges Tyler Perry Studios removed that credit, and that he had to contact the Writers Guild of America to get it restored.6Black Enterprise. Keyes also alleges Perry sought ownership and control of the show’s creative direction, pressuring him to “give up the soul of the show.” He says that when he refused, “everything changed… The tone became threatening.”8WBLS. Keyes’ 2023 Harassment Allegations and the Derek Dixon Connection
On December 15, 2023, Keyes posted an Instagram video alleging he had been sexually harassed for years by a “powerful man” in Hollywood whom he did not name. Keyes said the individual “abused certain powers” and kept “multiple young Black men” on his payroll to be available at his request. He framed the disclosure broadly: “It’s not just women that have to deal with it. It’s also men sometimes.”10Yahoo Entertainment. Christian Keyes Opens Up About Sexual Harassment
Actress Elise Neal responded, “I’ve been in these situations and I’m proud of you.” Claudia Jordan said Keyes had confided part of the story to her roughly 15 years earlier and told her then that he planned to eventually go public.10Yahoo Entertainment. Christian Keyes Opens Up About Sexual Harassment Keyes disabled comments on the post and has never publicly named the alleged perpetrator.
The account took on new significance in June 2025, when actor Derek Dixon filed a $260 million lawsuit against Tyler Perry in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging sexual harassment, assault, and a pattern of exploiting male actors. Dixon, who appeared in 85 episodes of Perry’s BET series The Oval, said in the complaint that he had “pieced together” Keyes’ anonymous 2023 account and believed the person Keyes described was Perry. Dixon’s lawsuit drew specific parallels between the two men’s alleged experiences, including claims that Perry would “get drunk, climb into [the actor’s] bed, and start fondling [their] buttocks.” Dixon cited Keyes’ disclosure as a motivation for coming forward.11The Hollywood Reporter. Perry’s legal team, led by Matthew Boyd, called Dixon’s lawsuit a “scam” built on “fabricated claims.”11The Hollywood Reporter. Where the Broader Perry Litigation Stands
Keyes is not a plaintiff in any of the pending suits against Perry. In December 2025, actor Mario Rodriguez filed a separate $77 million lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging sexual battery and assault stemming from incidents between 2014 and 2019.13The New York Times.
