2026 Release Dates

The Office of Attorney Admissions posts release dates in advance on its official website. For 2026:

  • February 2026 exam: results released April 23, 2026.
  • July 2026 exam: results released September 17, 2026.

Those are the dates individual scores are made available to examinees. How to See Your Score

Individual scores are delivered through your personal account on the Office of Attorney Admissions website. You’ll receive an email notification when your results are ready to view, and you can see your detailed score breakdown before any names appear publicly. What Counts as Passing

Colorado uses the Uniform Bar Exam. The minimum scaled score is 270, which dropped from 276 in 2023, so older study materials referencing the higher cutoff are out of date.2Colorado Judicial Branch. The 270 is a combined score built from three components tested over two days:

  • Multistate Bar Examination (MBE): 200 multiple-choice questions covering areas like constitutional law, contracts, and evidence. Worth 50% of the total.
  • Multistate Essay Examination (MEE): written analysis of legal scenarios across several subjects. Worth 30%.
  • Multistate Performance Test (MPT): practical tasks worked from a provided case file and library of authorities. Worth 20%.

Recent Pass Rates

Pass rates differ noticeably between the July and February sittings. July draws mostly first-time takers straight from law school; February has a higher share of repeat takers.

The exam content and scoring methodology are identical across both administrations. The gap reflects the mix of test-takers, not a harder or easier February paper.

What You Need After You Pass

A passing score doesn’t get you a license on its own. Several requirements sit alongside the exam, and until each is cleared, admission is on hold.

Practicing With Professionalism Course

Every applicant attends a one-day course called Practicing with Professionalism, run by the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel and the Colorado Bar Association-CLE. You can take it before or after the exam, but admission won’t be cleared until it’s done. Credit is valid for 18 months, so don’t take it too early.8Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. MPRE Score

You need a valid Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination score of at least 85 on file with the admissions office.9Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. MPRE Requirement for Law Admission Most applicants take the MPRE during law school. Colorado’s 85 threshold sits near the top of the national range, which runs from 75 to 86.

Character and Fitness Investigation

The Office of Attorney Admissions investigates every applicant’s background under C.R.C.P. 208, covering criminal history, financial responsibility, and professional conduct.10Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. Oath of Admission

Once every requirement is satisfied, you take the Oath of Admission at a weekly ceremony conducted via Zoom. If You Didn’t Pass

Applicants who fall short receive a detailed breakdown showing performance on each exam component. That breakdown is your best retake planning tool. It shows where to focus additional study rather than starting over from scratch.

To sit again, log back into your CiviCore application account and select the returning candidate option. The application fee for repeat takers is lower than for first-timers. NCBE reports the Colorado re-examinee fee as $410 for timely applications, higher with late filing.13National Conference of Bar Examiners. A Note on the NextGen Exam

If you’re checking 2026 results, you took the current UBE, and the current UBE is what Colorado will keep administering through the February 2028 exam. The first Colorado NextGen Bar Exam is scheduled for July 2028.16National Conference of Bar Examiners.
