If you weren’t expecting it, the most likely explanation is an unlimited plan that auto-renews every month until you cancel it, sometimes signed up for as what a customer thought was a one-time wash or short promotion.
Why the Charge Keeps Coming Back

The first month is prorated from the signup date, and the full monthly rate runs from then on until the member cancels. How to Cancel a Delta Sonic Membership
You can cancel a monthly plan at any time after the first full month’s charge has processed. There are three ways to do it:
- Online through the Unlimited Member Portal on Delta Sonic’s website or the dedicated cancellation form.
- By phone at 1-800-843-5477 (1-800-THE-KISS).
- In person with a cashier at any Delta Sonic location.

If You Can’t Get It Canceled or Refunded
The Illinois Automatic Contract Renewal Act (815 ILCS 601) requires businesses selling auto-renewing subscriptions to clearly disclose, before the sale, that the agreement continues until the consumer cancels, the deadline to cancel before the next charge, the recurring amount and possible price changes, and the length of each renewal term. Sellers must obtain affirmative consent before charging a payment method and provide a retainable acknowledgment that includes the cancellation policy and instructions. Those two statutes are the basis of a class action filed in early 2026 in Will County, Illinois, by Marianne Stacey, a customer at the Joliet location, on behalf of a proposed class of more than 40 people who bought memberships at any of Delta Sonic’s 10 Illinois locations. Stacey alleged that Delta Sonic failed to provide the required acknowledgments covering auto-renewal terms, the cancellation policy, and how to cancel, and that when she tried to cancel through an attendant she was told to contact corporate, where she continued to be billed. The suit seeks a declaration that the practices violate Illinois law, refunds for unauthorized recurring charges, and attorney’s fees. Disputing the Charge With Your Bank
If Delta Sonic won’t resolve the charges, federal law gives you a separate route through your card issuer. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you can send a written dispute to your credit card company within 60 days of the first statement showing the charge you’re contesting. Send the letter to the billing inquiries address, not the payment address, and include your name, account number, and a description of the charge. While the issuer investigates, you can withhold payment on the disputed amount. The card company cannot close your account, report you as delinquent on the disputed charges, or restrict your account beyond applying the disputed amount to your credit limit. One practical order: cancel the membership first so the charges stop, then pursue a refund for the months you’re contesting. Canceling on its own does not reverse prior charges, and disputing prior charges does not stop future ones.
