Tags and Renewal

Penalties for an Unlicensed Dog
Under state law, failure to license is a violation with escalating fines:
- First offense: at least $25
- Second offense within five years: at least $50
- Third or later offense within five years: at least $100, up to 15 days in jail, or both

If Your Dog Gets Seized
