Lawsuit settlements tied to Jeffrey Epstein have now pushed compensation for his victims past half a billion dollars, drawn primarily from three major banks, Epstein’s estate, and a handful of his wealthiest associates. The largest single payment came from JPMorgan Chase at $290 million. Deutsche Bank followed at $75 million, Bank of America at $72.5 million, and the Epstein estate agreed in early 2026 to add up to $35 million on top of a $125 million fund it had already distributed. Several matters remain in active litigation as of mid-2026, including a new class action filed by survivors against the Justice Department and Google over the mishandled release of the Epstein files.
Bank Settlements With Victims
The banks that held Epstein’s accounts have paid out the largest share. Three institutions have now resolved class-action claims brought by women who said the banks knowingly profited from, or looked past, his trafficking.
JPMorgan Chase — $290 Million
JPMorgan Chase banked Epstein from roughly 1998 to 2013. In June 2023, the bank agreed to pay $290 million to settle a class action brought by a plaintiff identified as Jane Doe 1 on behalf of nearly 200 victims.1NPR. Deutsche Bank — $75 Million
Deutsche Bank took Epstein on as a client in 2013, years after his Florida sex-offense conviction. It settled a class action for $75 million in May 2023, with eligible victims positioned to receive anywhere from $75,000 to upwards of $5 million depending on their individual circumstances.3NPR. Bank of America — $72.5 Million
Bank of America was sued in October 2025 in a proposed class action in Manhattan federal court, with plaintiffs alleging the bank benefited financially from its relationship with Epstein and overlooked signs his accounts were being used for trafficking.5The New York Times. The U.S. Virgin Islands’ Separate JPMorgan Deal
In addition to the victim class action, JPMorgan settled with the U.S. Virgin Islands for $75 million in September 2023, resolving claims the bank facilitated trafficking over nearly 15 years. Of that amount, $30 million went to local charities, $25 million to anti-trafficking law enforcement, and about $10 million to a mental health fund for victims.9BBC. The Epstein Estate
The Epstein estate set up a voluntary compensation fund in 2021 that distributed roughly $125 million to victims. A separate class action followed in February 2024 in Manhattan federal court, this time against Epstein’s former personal lawyer, Darren Indyke, and his accountant, Richard Kahn. Both serve as co-executors of the estate. The suit alleged they helped Epstein build a network of corporations and bank accounts that facilitated trafficking, and that they were richly compensated for the work.11NBC News. Epstein Estate Agrees to Settlement With Victim Class Action
In February 2026, the estate agreed to pay up to $35 million to settle the claims, with no admission of misconduct. Judge Arun Subramanian granted preliminary approval on March 3, 2026, with a further hearing scheduled for September 16, 2026. The settlement covers all females sexually assaulted, abused, or trafficked by Epstein between January 1, 1995, and August 10, 2019, and is intended to reach victims who did not receive compensation from the earlier fund.12The Hill. Virginia Roberts Giuffre sued Prince Andrew in 2021 under New York’s Child Victims Act, alleging sexual assault in 2001 when she was 17. In February 2022 the prince settled for an undisclosed sum without admitting wrongdoing. The amount has been variously reported at $16 million or closer to $6 million.13Forbes. Leon Black
Leon Black, the former CEO of Apollo Global Management, paid Epstein approximately $170 million between 2012 and 2017 for what he described as tax and estate planning advice. A Senate Finance Committee investigation led by Senator Ron Wyden found those payments exceeded amounts paid to comparable advisors by up to 60 times, with $100 million paid without written contracts.17Business Insider. In January 2023, Black paid the U.S. Virgin Islands $62.5 million to be released from potential claims tied to the territory’s Epstein trafficking investigation. He also faces an ongoing civil suit by a plaintiff identified as Jane Doe alleging rape at Epstein’s New York townhouse in 2002. A federal judge sanctioned the plaintiff and her former lawyer for misconduct, including falsified evidence, but ruled the case could proceed. Black has not been criminally charged and denies all allegations. He is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on June 26, 2026.18The Guardian. Jeffrey Epstein Leon Black
Leslie Wexner and L Brands
Leslie Wexner, the L Brands founder who employed Epstein as a financial advisor, was named in a shareholder derivative suit alleging the L Brands board failed to investigate his ties to Epstein and ignored a pervasive culture of misconduct inside the company. That case settled in 2022 for $90 million in corporate governance reforms split between L Brands and Victoria’s Secret, including the elimination of nondisclosure agreements and forced arbitration for discrimination claims.19Cohen Milstein. L Brands Inc Derivative Litigation Note that this settlement went to corporate reforms, not to victims directly.
Eleven women have since sued Wexner personally under New York City’s Gender-Motivated Violence Act, alleging he enabled Epstein’s abuse and provided the New York mansion where it occurred. Wexner was deposed in February 2026. His representatives deny the allegations and dispute claims about the extent of his financial relationship with Epstein.20ABC6. The Privacy Class Action Against DOJ and Google
The newest litigation grew out of the government’s release of the Epstein files. Between December 2025 and January 2026, the Justice Department released thousands of unredacted pages containing personal information for roughly 100 survivors, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, and images.21Courthouse News Service. On March 26, 2026, a group of survivors filed a class action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against the DOJ and Google. The complaint alleges the government violated the federal Privacy Act, and that Google continued to surface the exposed information in search results and AI-generated content despite repeated removal requests.22CNBC.
