The complaints allege the streamers rebroadcast nearly all of Klein’s documentary Content Nuke: Hasan Piker during livestreamed reaction sessions without adding enough original commentary to qualify as fair use. One streamer aired more than 70 minutes of the documentary while largely silent, another left the room during playback, and a third scrolled Reddit while the video played in the background, according to the filings.
Ted Entertainment’s theory is that the streams operated as unauthorized redistribution rather than transformative criticism. The company cited a 1.23-to-1 ratio of commentary to original content in the Denims stream and argued the reactions functioned as market substitutes, diverting tens of thousands of viewers from the documentary’s release-day launch.
Kaceytron Settled and Apologized
Kaceytron settled with Ted Entertainment in December 2025. On December 2, she posted a video on X apologizing to Ethan and Hila Klein, admitting to copyright infringement, and stating that the lawsuit “was not frivolous.” She said her earlier public claims characterizing the suit as rooted in misogyny had been “calculated defensive tactics” used to “garner sympathy and retaliate against the Kleins.”1Times of India. Frogan Is in Default
Frogan never filed a substantive response. After months of docket inactivity, Ted Entertainment requested a clerk’s entry of default, which was granted on May 20, 2026.3CourtListener. Denims Has a Tentative Fair Use Win
The Denims case, Ted Entertainment v. Saber, is the one to watch. In May 2026, Denims filed a motion for judgment on the pleadings asking the court to declare her stream fair use as a matter of law. Judge Wesley Hsu issued a tentative ruling granting the motion, finding the stream transformative and not a market substitute for the documentary.4Copyright Lately. The Subpoena Fight to Unmask the r/h3snark Moderators
Alongside the streamer suits, Ted Entertainment named the anonymous moderators of the r/h3snark subreddit as Doe defendants, alleging contributory copyright infringement by directing users to watch reaction streams as a way to consume the documentary “without showing support for H3.”6CourtWatch News. The Moderators’ Arguments
On September 22, 2025, lawyers for the anonymous moderators moved to quash the subpoenas. They argued the underlying copyright claims were weak, that hosting links to reaction videos in a Reddit thread does not amount to contributory infringement, and that the reaction videos themselves are fair use. They invoked First Amendment protection for anonymous speech, arguing that compelled disclosure would impose a “considerable price” on future critics of public figures. And they raised personal safety concerns, saying that unmasking the moderators would expose them to stalking, harassment, and potential violence.6CourtWatch News. To support the safety argument, the moderators pointed to statements Klein made on his podcast. “Listen, guys, at this point you [r/h3snark mods] are totally fucked. There’s a subpoena that’s going to come. You can’t erase your data. We’re going to get your IP address and find your information,” he said in one episode. In another, Klein said: “If there’s any justice in the world [the h3snark mods] will lose everything that they care about and I will be the one who makes them lose those things.”6CourtWatch News. Judge Kim Denied the Motion to Quash
On April 29, 2026, Judge Kim denied the motion. According to reporting on the ruling, the court found “credible evidence” that the moderators had facilitated unauthorized streaming of the documentary as a direct substitute for the original.2Copyright Lately. The court also noted that viewership on the stream dropped sharply once the documentary ended, treating that as evidence the audience had come for the documentary rather than the commentary.

The iDubbbz Defamation Suit in Canada
Klein has also filed a defamation lawsuit in Calgary, Alberta, against YouTuber Ian Kane Jomha, known as iDubbbz. Klein alleges that Jomha and his wife, Anisa Jomha, made statements implying that Klein molests his children. Klein’s lawyers sent a retraction demand before filing.8NDTV Sports. Why Klein’s Own 2017 Fair Use Win Matters Here
The copyright suits carry an unusual backdrop: Klein himself is the named defendant in a landmark reaction-video fair use ruling. In 2017, Judge Katherine Forrest of the Southern District of New York held in Hosseinzadeh v. Judge Hsu’s tentative ruling in the Denims case cites that decision against Ted Entertainment. Klein’s team draws a line between the two situations: in Hosseinzadeh, the Kleins interspersed short clips with sustained critical commentary, while the Denims stream played the full documentary with intermittent remarks. The four fights are in four different postures. Kaceytron is resolved by settlement, with Kaceytron cooperating against the Reddit moderators. Frogan is in clerk’s default, with a default judgment potentially next. Denims has a tentative fair use ruling in her favor, but Judge Hsu has taken the matter under submission and could revise it. The Northern District subpoena ruling clears the way for Reddit and Discord to identify the r/h3snark moderators, though the moderators may pursue further relief.
