The settlement class is narrower than the truck lineup suggests. How the $50 Million Is Divided

The Repair Fund holds $30 million for class members who paid out of pocket for a CP4 pump repair. Estimated individual payouts run from roughly $6,356 to $12,712 per repair, depending on how many valid claims came in.

Reimbursement for Repairs After May 6, 2025
Separate from the two funds, GM agreed to reimburse 50% of the cost of any CP4 fuel pump replacement or repair performed at a GM-authorized dealership on or after May 6, 2025. What the Lawsuit Alleged
The Bosch CP4 pump replaced the older CP3 starting with the 2011 Duramax. Plaintiffs alleged the CP4 was designed for European diesel fuel, which is more lubricating than U.S. Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel. When the pump fails, the debris typically requires replacing the pump, all eight injectors, the fuel rail, fuel lines, and sometimes the tank. Repairs commonly run $10,000 to $18,000, with most falling between $12,000 and $14,000. If You Own a Ford or Live Outside the Seven States
The CP4 pump is used in other diesel trucks, and this settlement does not cover them. A parallel class action, Droesser v. Ford Motor Company, targets Ford trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel and the CP4 pump. In March 2023, U.S. District Judge Bernard A.
