Golden Sunny Massage Parlor: Findings, Outcome, and Enforcement

Golden Sunny Massage Parlor at 309 Aragona Boulevard in Virginia Beach was searched by vice detectives on June 3, 2021, after complaints that an employee was using the business for prostitution. Officers seized more than $7,000 in cash and charged a 52-year-old employee with two misdemeanors.¹

What the Search Turned Up

The Virginia Beach Police Department’s Special Investigations unit opened the probe after receiving what WAVY described as several complaints about an employee at the business. Detectives obtained a search warrant and executed it on June 3, 2021, seizing over $7,000 in U.S. currency from the premises.²

Xue Aifang, 52, of Flushing, New York, was charged with prostitution and frequenting a bawdy place. Both are Class 1 misdemeanors under Virginia law. Police said at the time that the investigation was still ongoing.²

Case Outcome

Public reporting stops at the June 2021 announcement. There is no available record of a conviction, plea, or dismissal for Aifang, and no public indication that Golden Sunny was permanently closed or lost a license as a result of the investigation.¹

Where the Case Fits in Local Enforcement

Virginia Beach police and federal partners have continued to focus on massage businesses suspected of fronting for prostitution. In early 2023, Yang Gao, Si Liu, and Ye Wang pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Virginia to conspiracy to engage in money laundering tied to unlicensed massage parlors in Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, in a case worked by HSI Norfolk, the Virginia Beach Police Department, the Virginia State Police, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said the ring laundered $696,706.65 in proceeds.³ That federal case did not name Golden Sunny Massage, and no public reporting has linked the two investigations.⁴

In March 2025, Virginia Beach police executed a search warrant at Sunrise Spa on Shore Drive after undercover operations that detectives said uncovered agreements to exchange money for sexual acts. That case remained under investigation with no charges filed as of the last update, and it is a separate business from Golden Sunny.⁵
