Hakimi Divorce Settlement: Prenup, French Law, and Abouk’s Claims

The Hakimi divorce settlement has not, in any publicly confirmed form, actually happened. The viral 2023 story that Spanish actress Hiba Abouk walked into a French courtroom, demanded half of Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi’s fortune, and left with nothing because everything was in his mother’s name was traced by fact-checkers to a satirical Facebook page in Ivory Coast. What is real: reporting indicates Abouk’s lawyers demanded €10 million while Hakimi offered €2 million, and Abouk reportedly filed a separate fraud suit over assets held in the name of Hakimi’s mother, Saida Mouh. As of mid-2026, no final decree or property-division ruling has been made public.

The Viral Story and Where It Came From

In April 2023, social media filled with a tidy narrative: Abouk had asked for half of Hakimi’s wealth, only to be told in court that he owned nothing on paper because his salary, cars, and property were all registered to his mother. Millions of shares later, the story was being treated as reported fact.

Fact-checking organization Dubawa traced it to a parody Facebook page called “Papa Ado,” based in Ivory Coast, amplified by a tweet from an account called “First Mag Le Vrai” on April 13, 2023. Dubawa rated the posts false, finding no court ruling and no credible reporting that Abouk had been turned away from any settlement.1Dubawa. What Reporting Actually Says About the Money

Beneath the misinformation, a real dispute is documented. According to Marca and Al Arabiya, Abouk’s legal team demanded €10 million to settle the divorce; Hakimi’s side offered €2 million.2Marca. Marca put concrete numbers on the alleged structure: roughly 80% of Hakimi’s fortune controlled by his mother, about $215,000 per week from his PSG salary deposited into her account, and purchases such as cars and jewelry made in her name.6Marca. The Prenuptial Agreement Nobody Has Seen

Dubawa noted that the couple had a “contrat de mariage,” a prenuptial agreement, in place.1Dubawa. Fact Check: Viral Achraf Hakimi-Hiba Abouk Divorce Settlement Posts Fake Its terms are not public. That single unknown drives almost everything else.

Under French law, couples who sign no prenup default to “community of after-acquired property”: assets acquired during the marriage are split equally, while pre-marital assets stay separate. A prenup drafted by a notary before the wedding can substantially modify those defaults, including opting for full separation of property.8European e-Justice Portal. Matrimonial Property Regimes – France Without knowing which regime the couple chose, no one outside the case can say what Abouk is entitled to.

French Law on Hiding Marital Assets

Abouk’s fraud claim maps onto a specific French legal concept: recel de communauté, under Article 1477 of the Civil Code. A spouse who diverts or conceals community assets forfeits their own share in those assets entirely, and the other spouse recovers the full amount. The French Court of Cassation has described the penalty as punitive rather than merely compensatory.9Dalloz Étudiant. Charge de la Preuve en Cas de Recel Entre Époux

To win, the aggrieved spouse must prove two things: a material act of concealment or diversion, and specific intent to defeat the equal division of property. Courts have recognized transfers to third-party accounts, holdings through shell entities, and fictitious donations as concealment methods. The five-year statute of limitations generally runs from the date the divorce judgment becomes final.9Dalloz Étudiant. Charge de la Preuve en Cas de Recel Entre Époux

Whether the framework helps Abouk depends on the prenup. If the couple chose full separation of property, Hakimi’s salary was never community property to begin with, and recel becomes much harder to argue. If a community regime applies, routing salary and purchases to his mother’s name is the kind of conduct the statute was written for.

What Abouk Has Said

Abouk has rejected the gold-digger framing. In May 2023 she told reporters, “It is a macho and misogynistic world considering that when we started our relationship, he did not earn money and I was better known than him. Imagine that.”10Al Arabiya English. Where the Settlement Stands

No final divorce decree, financial settlement, or property division has been publicly confirmed. The fraud lawsuit Abouk reportedly filed in 2023 has produced no known court ruling. Co-parenting appears to be functioning, based on Abouk’s own statements, but the financial side of the split, at least in public view, is unresolved.

One boundary worth drawing: the divorce and the criminal rape case against Hakimi, which a judge ordered to trial in February 2026, are separate proceedings.12CNN. Achraf Hakimi PSG Rape Trial Hakimi denies the allegations. Whatever happens in that trial does not itself resolve the property questions raised by Abouk’s fraud suit, and the two should not be read as a single case.
