If You Already Filed a Claim
Hold on to the confirmation code the online system generated when you submitted, along with any confirmation emails. Those are your proof of filing if a question comes up during distribution.
Check that the contact and payment details on your claim still work. If you chose direct deposit, Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, the account tied to the email address on your form needs to be active. If you chose a paper check, the mailing address on file needs to be current. When Payments Are Expected
The court granted final approval at a hearing on November 14, 2024. An appeal followed. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the settlement on February 13, 2026, and the mandate returning the case to the trial court was filed on March 31, 2026. Payments cannot go out until that effective date. Once it hits, the administrator will distribute funds through whichever payment method each claimant selected on the form.
Expect a modest amount. Taxes on Your Payment
Privacy-related settlement payments are generally taxable income rather than tax-free personal injury recoveries. If You Never Filed
Missing the deadline means you will not share in this fund. You have not been charged anything and you have not signed away any unrelated legal rights by failing to file.
