How to File the Subaru Windshield Settlement Claim Form

The Subaru windshield settlement claim form is no longer being accepted. The deadline to submit a cash reimbursement claim in Powell, et al. v. Subaru of America, Inc. was January 31, 2025, and the court granted final approval on April 21, 2025. If you filed before the cutoff, you can check your payment status through the settlement website using the claim ID you received at submission. If you didn’t file in time but your vehicle still qualifies, the settlement’s extended warranty remains in effect and is handled at the dealer without a claim form.

Vehicles the Settlement Covered

The settlement class includes residents of the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii who currently own or lease, or previously owned or leased, one of these models originally purchased or leased in those same areas:1Subaru Windshield Settlement. Subaru Windshield Settlement

  • Ascent, 2019–2022 model years
  • Forester, 2019–2022 model years
  • Legacy, 2020–2022 model years
  • Outback, 2020–2022 model years

The Legacy and Outback start at model year 2020, not 2019.

What the Claim Form Required

The cash reimbursement portion of the settlement covered out-of-pocket parts and labor for repair of a qualifying windshield crack on a covered vehicle, whether the work was done at a Subaru dealer or an independent glass shop. Claimants filed through the official settlement website or by mailing a paper form to:

Seattle, WA 98111

The form asked for your contact information, the vehicle identification number, the mileage at the time of repair, and a detailed invoice or repair order showing the date, cost, and description of the windshield work. Each claimant signed a declaration under penalty of perjury confirming the information was accurate. The settlement did not publish a specific dollar cap on individual reimbursements; the stated benefit was repayment of your actual out-of-pocket cost for qualifying repairs.1Subaru Windshield Settlement. Key Dates

  • Claim form deadline: January 31, 2025
  • Exclusion or objection deadline: February 15, 2025
  • Final approval granted: April 21, 2025
  • Extended warranty effective: February 5, 2025

Checking the Status of a Claim You Already Filed

If you submitted a claim before January 31, 2025, you were issued a unique claim ID at the time of filing. You can look up the status of your payment on the settlement website using that ID. Questions about processing or payment timing go to the settlement administrator, JND Legal Administration, through the contact information on that site.1Subaru Windshield Settlement. If You Missed the Deadline

There is no publicly announced late-filing process for the cash claim. If you paid out of pocket for a windshield repair but didn’t file before January 31, 2025, your only avenue is to contact JND Legal Administration directly through the settlement website and ask whether any exception applies. Expect that path to be narrow.

If your windshield hasn’t cracked yet, the more useful remedy is the extended warranty, which does not require a claim form.

The Extended Warranty Replaces the Claim Form Going Forward

The extended warranty took effect on February 5, 2025, and covers qualifying windshield cracks for eight years or 100,000 miles from the vehicle’s original in-service date, whichever comes first.2National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Subaru Windshield Warranty Extension For a 2019 model that went into service in mid-2019, coverage could extend into 2027. A 2022 model that entered service in late 2022 could be covered through 2030.

To use it, bring the vehicle to an authorized Subaru dealer. The dealer will assess whether the crack qualifies under the settlement’s definition and, if so, perform the repair at no charge. Subaru issued a service bulletin with inspection and repair instructions to its dealer network around the warranty’s effective date.2National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Subaru Windshield Warranty Extension You do not need a claim number or any paperwork from the settlement administrator; the dealer handles verification directly.

A qualifying crack under the settlement is a single line extending from or through a single small impact point (less than 5 millimeters in diameter) toward the edge of the glass, consistent with a small bullseye, star break, or partial crack. Damage from accidents, vandalism, storm damage, large impacts, cracks starting at the A-pillar edge, or multiple cracks branching from one impact point is excluded. If the impact point is hard to spot, the dealer performs a “Pen Test” to locate it; if no point can be identified but the crack otherwise matches the definition, the repair is still covered.

If you have the repair done outside the dealer network, you would pay out of pocket, and because the cash reimbursement window has closed, there is no straightforward route to get that money back. Using an authorized Subaru dealer is the clean path while the warranty is active.
