The IdentityIQ settlement is an $8,769,854 class action settlement resolving claims that Identity Intelligence Group, LLC signed California consumers up for auto-renewing IdentityIQ credit monitoring subscriptions without properly disclosing the renewal terms. Who Qualified as a Class Member
The class covered California residents who were enrolled in an IdentityIQ membership between March 30, 2011, and August 20, 2023, and who were charged at least one renewal fee on or after March 22, 2019.2IdentityIQ Settlement Website. No claim form was required. The administrator, CPT Group, Inc., identified class members from the company’s records and reached out by email, or by first-class mail for those without an email on file, after running addresses through the U.S. Postal Service’s National Change of Address database. The deadline to opt out or object was July 28, 2025, and it has passed.
When Payments Started and How They Arrive
Payments began going out on April 13, 2026.1ClaimDepot. Identity IQ Settlement Class members who submitted a payment selection form before the deadline can receive their money electronically through PayPal, Venmo, or direct deposit. Anyone who did not choose an electronic option is being paid by a paper check mailed to the address on file.

How Much Class Members Receive
The court has not published a per-person payment figure, and the settlement documents do not disclose how many class members are participating. What is known is how the $8,769,854 fund was divided before distribution:
- $3,332,544.52 in attorneys’ fees to class counsel, Dostart Hannink LLP
- $105,305.99 in litigation expenses
- $255,000 in settlement administration costs to CPT Group, Inc.
- $10,000 service awards to each of the two named plaintiffs, Keith Caldwell and Asya Hunter

What the Lawsuit Was About

California’s Automatic Renewal Law, enacted in 2009, requires clear disclosure of subscription terms, explicit consumer consent before recurring charges, and an easy cancellation method. Identity Intelligence Group denied the allegations and maintained it had done nothing wrong. The settlement resolves the claims without any admission of liability.
