The Charge Against Him
A Dallas County grand jury indicted Conway on capital murder while remuneration, the Texas term for hiring someone to commit murder. Prosecutors allege he promised Kewon Dontrell White a cash payment to kill Melvin Noble, the rapper known as Mo3, who was shot on Interstate 35E in Dallas on November 11, 2020. According to court filings, White ambushed Noble’s vehicle in a ski mask and shot him multiple times in the back.2FOX 4 News. What His House Arrest Looks Like
The release terms are strict. Conway wears a GPS ankle monitor, submits to random drug and alcohol testing, surrendered his passport, cannot possess weapons, and is barred from contacting witnesses, victims, or co-defendants. Any travel outside Dallas requires permission from the court.6Billboard. Yella Beezy Released on Bond in Mo3 Murder-for-Hire Case
Courts have been selective about loosening those terms. In April 2025, Conway’s attorneys asked for a temporary modification so he could attend his child’s youth football games, arguing it would support “continued family engagement and stability.” Judge Chika Anyiam of Criminal District Court No. 7 denied the request the next day.7Dallas Morning News. Why the Trial Was Pushed Back
The trial was originally scheduled to start February 2, 2026, with a pretrial hearing on January 16. On January 7, Conway’s defense team filed for a continuance, citing more than 16 terabytes of discovery material from prosecutors that the defense called largely duplicative, unlabeled, or irrelevant.9XXL Magazine. Judge Anyiam granted the continuance. Conway’s trial is now set for August 24, 2026, the same date as the trial of alleged gunman Kewon Dontrell White. White is currently serving a federal prison sentence of eight years and nine months on firearm charges connected to the shooting; his state murder charge is still pending.10FOX 4 News. What a Conviction Would Mean
Capital murder in Texas carries only two possible sentences: life in prison without the possibility of parole, or death. If a jury returns a guilty verdict, it then hears additional evidence and answers two questions: whether the defendant poses a continuing threat of violence to society, and whether mitigating circumstances warrant life rather than death. A death sentence requires a unanimous jury on both questions. If jurors cannot reach that unanimous threshold, the sentence defaults to life without parole.11Texas Legislature.
