Jack Doherty Mugshot: Arrest, Charges, and 2026 Hearing

The Jack Doherty mugshot that circulated in mid-November 2025 came from a Miami Beach arrest in the early hours of November 15, after police said the 22-year-old YouTuber planted himself in the middle of Washington Avenue to film a video and refused officers’ orders to move. He was booked by Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation on a felony count of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor marijuana charge, and resisting an officer without violence.

The Arrest in Miami Beach

At about 3:12 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Miami Beach Police working a high-visibility enforcement detail along the 700 block of Washington Avenue saw a group step into the roadway.¹ Doherty broke off from the group, stood in the street with his phone, and began recording, which officers described as “a significant safety hazard” for traffic.²

Officers gave him multiple commands to leave the road. People in his own group urged him to comply. According to the police report, Doherty answered, “Once I’m done with this bet.” The Miami Beach Police Department later posted on Facebook, “We don’t ‘bet’ on public safety.”³

Bodycam video showed several men around Doherty filming the encounter on their own phones before officers directed them away and took him into custody in the roadway.⁴ A search turned up half of an orange, oval-shaped pill imprinted with a “3,” which police identified as consistent with a Schedule II amphetamine, along with three hand-rolled suspected cannabis cigarettes weighing about 4.0 grams inside a black plastic container.⁵

The Charges and Bond

Doherty was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 8:45 a.m. on November 15, 2025, on three counts:⁵

Felony possession of a controlled substance tied to the pill. Police initially identified the substance as amphetamine.⁶
Misdemeanor possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana, tied to the cannabis cigarettes.
Misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence, based on his refusal to leave the roadway.⁷

Under Florida law, simple possession of a controlled substance is a third-degree felony.⁸ Bond was set at $35,000. Doherty posted it and walked out around 8 p.m. the same day, roughly 17 hours after booking. Circuit Judge Carlos Gamez was assigned to the case.⁵

What Doherty Did With the Mugshot

The booking photo, credited to Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation, spread across social media and news sites within hours.⁶ Doherty leaned in. After his release he appeared in a video wearing a custom t-shirt with his own mugshot on it, overlaid with the TMZ logo.⁹ Speaking to NBC6, he called the police response “a little excessive,” said there was no traffic at that hour, and claimed he had simply been slow to cross the street.²

The January 2026 Hearing

Doherty’s arraignment was set for January 15, 2026. He did not attend, and the judge reportedly let him waive his appearance, citing his “celebrity status.”¹⁰

One detail shifted at that hearing. The court reportedly identified the controlled substance as cocaine rather than the amphetamine named in the original police paperwork. Both are Schedule II substances under Florida law, though the reclassification can carry different sentencing implications.¹⁰ As of the most recent reporting, no next court date had been publicly announced and the case remained open.¹¹

Earlier Incidents

The Miami Beach case was not Doherty’s first brush with police or public backlash. In October 2024 he crashed a $200,000 McLaren on Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade while livestreaming on Kick, with footage showing him looking at his phone in the rain before the car hydroplaned into a guardrail. His cameraman was visible bleeding from the head.¹²¹³¹⁴

In November 2023 he flipped a golf cart with his then-girlfriend as a passenger; in the video he can be heard saying he thought he had broken her neck, then noting that the cart was fine. He flipped a new off-road vehicle within seconds of getting it in March 2024.¹³ In February 2026, weeks after skipping his arraignment, Doherty received a lifetime ban from PGA Tour events after offering audience members money to yell during Mackenzie Hughes’s swing at the WM Phoenix Open. He was escorted out of TPC Scottsdale and served with a trespass order.¹⁴
