Court proceedings later established that Siple had agreed to let Williams sexually abuse her daughter for $2,500, an amount negotiated down to $1,300, which Williams never paid.4Ledger-Enquirer. Trial and Death Sentence
In March 2024, Williams filed a notice of intent to plead guilty. The court accepted the plea as knowing and voluntary, but Alabama law does not permit a death sentence on a guilty plea alone, so a jury trial went forward in April 2024 before Russell County Circuit Court Judge David Johnson.7CaseMine. Over three days, five officers described the investigation, a forensic pathologist presented autopsy findings, and a young sexual-assault victim testified.8WTVM. Alabama law requires the Court of Criminal Appeals to review every death sentence, even when the defendant tries to waive all appeals. Kamarie Holland was not the only child Williams harmed. At trial, he confessed to molesting his five-year-old stepdaughter “on a daily basis.”5WTVM. The infant’s death in North Pole, Alaska, in January 2005 had originally been investigated as suspicious because of blunt-force injuries, but the manner of death was ruled undetermined after Williams refused a polygraph and left the state.14Anchorage Daily News. Kristy Marie Siple was arrested on December 28, 2021, and charged with felony murder and human trafficking.16WTVM.
