Several gynecologists have publicly disputed the premise. The Study Behind the Probiotic
The primary study on Bacillus coagulans SNZ-1969, published in 2017 in the International Journal of Probiotics and Prebiotics, tested it as an oral supplement alongside the antibiotic metronidazole in women with recurrent bacterial vaginosis. Critics point to a gap between that study and the product’s marketing. The research involved women already diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis who were simultaneously taking antibiotics, not healthy women taking gummies for freshness or taste. The complaints alleged that Lemme falsely marketed the capsules as capable of reducing hunger, promoting fat reduction, and supporting healthy weight management by increasing the body’s natural GLP-1 production by 17%.10ClassAction.org. Lemme moved to dismiss the New York case on April 8, 2025. A week later, before the court ruled, Robins voluntarily dismissed it.
