Libs of TikTok, the X account run by Chaya Raichik, has made teachers a central target since 2021, reposting educators’ social media content to millions of followers with captions that label them groomers, predators, or threats to children. The pattern that follows is consistent: harassment campaigns against the teacher by name, hostile calls and emails to the school district, bomb threats against the school in many cases, administrative leave, and often resignation even when district investigations find no policy violation. The account has featured more than 200 individual teachers, schools, and districts, according to reporting by Them.1Them. Libs of TikTok Explained
How the Targeting Works
Raichik reposts video or screenshots originally published by an educator, usually content related to LGBTQ+ students, Pride imagery, book displays, or the teacher’s own gender identity. The repost names the teacher and tags the school district, with commentary characterizing the educator as dangerous to children. Terms used across posts include “groomer,” “predator,” and “indoctrination.”2Congress.gov. HHRG-118-IF16-20230328-SD066
Followers then flood the teacher and the district with messages. Teachers have been called “pedophile,” “pervert,” and “groomer” by strangers, and many have locked or deleted their social accounts.2Congress.gov. HHRG-118-IF16-20230328-SD066 The district typically places the teacher on administrative leave citing safety or an open review. Even when the review clears the teacher, resignation often follows under pressure from continued threats, security costs, or public backlash. The account has publicly taken credit for departures, describing its “tremendous impact” in follow-up posts.3Yahoo News. Teacher Resigns After Viral Libs of TikTok Post

Bomb Threats Against Schools
An NBC News investigation identified 33 instances between November 2020 and February 2024 in which people or institutions targeted by Libs of TikTok then received bomb threats or threats of violent intimidation. Twenty-one were bomb threats sent by email to schools, libraries, hospitals, and other institutions across 16 states, Washington, D.C., and Ontario, Canada.13NBC News. Raichik has denied responsibility, writing on X, “I don’t support threatening the subjects of my posts,” and dismissing the pattern as a “narrative” meant to discredit her.13NBC News. Libs of TikTok, Bomb Threats, and the Connection Between Social Media Posts and Real-World Violence
