The Carlson Suit and What It Claimed
On June 19, 2024, Bart Carlson and his company, Yukon Construction, sued Barlow, Luxe Marketing, and Vida Tequila in Utah’s 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City.2The Salt Lake Tribune. According to the complaint, Barlow approached Carlson around May 2010, telling him she was in “severe financial difficulties” and needed help keeping her businesses running. Carlson said he never set a formal repayment deadline because of what the filing called a “longtime friendship.” He alleged the debt broke down this way:4KPCW. - $171,836 loaned by Yukon Construction to Barlow and her companies between May 2010 and June 2011.
- $87,100 loaned personally by Carlson between September 2010 and October 2015.
- $119,586 in charges Carlson said he paid on an American Express account he opened for Barlow between 2011 and 2017.

How Barlow Responded
Through her publicist, Barlow said “the claim that I owe Bart or his company money is untrue.” She described Carlson as a former partner in a Park City restaurant called Silver, not an investor in Luxe Marketing or Vida Tequila, and called the suit a personal attack brought nine years after that restaurant closed. She said she intended to “hold Bart fully accountable for any damage this personal attack may cause me or my businesses.”4KPCW.
