  • Mazda3, 2014–2018

The underlying complaints involved “ghost touch” inputs, where the touchscreen registered commands on its own, along with repeated system reboots and screen delamination traced to the connectivity master unit (CMU).

If You Missed the Claim Deadline

Cash reimbursement is off the table once the August 1, 2025 filing window closes. What remains, and what every current owner or lessee of a covered vehicle still has, is the limited warranty extension (LWE) covering Mazda Connect software updates and CMU repairs or replacements. Enrollment is automatic.1Mazda Connect Infotainment Settlement. Mazda Connect Infotainment Settlement

The 24-month clock starts on one of two dates:

  • If your factory warranty had already expired, the LWE runs from February 17, 2025, the date of preliminary approval, so coverage extends through roughly February 2027.
  • If your factory warranty is still active, the LWE begins when that warranty expires and runs an additional 24 months.

To use the extension, bring the vehicle to an authorized Mazda dealer when you experience ghost touch, reboots, screen delamination, or other Mazda Connect problems.3Mazda Connect Infotainment Settlement. FAQ – Duffy, et al. v. Mazda Motor of America, Inc. The dealer diagnoses the issue and, if a software update doesn’t resolve it, may repair or replace the CMU at no charge. You don’t need a settlement notice or proof of class membership; the dealer network already has the class vehicle list in its system.

What the Claim Form Asked For

If you filed and are being asked to verify or supplement information, the original form collected the following. Claimants entered either the Class Member ID printed on the mailed notice or the vehicle’s 17-digit VIN, along with current contact information, the exact dollar amounts spent on parts, labor, and taxes, and the vehicle’s mileage when the infotainment problems first appeared. An electronic signature certified the submission under penalty of perjury.

Reimbursement amounts depend on where the repair was done. Work performed by an authorized Mazda dealer is reimbursed in full for eligible repairs. Work done at a non-Mazda repair facility is reimbursed up to $1,750 per vehicle, provided the shop used verified Mazda OEM parts and labor costs did not exceed Mazda’s national warranty labor rate for that repair.3Mazda Connect Infotainment Settlement. FAQ – Duffy, et al. v. Mazda Motor of America, Inc. Documentation must identify the repair as related to the Mazda Connect system. Dealership invoices usually include diagnostic trouble codes that make this clear; independent shop receipts sometimes need more detail to clear the administrator’s review.
