MomPOV Lawsuit: $13M Verdict, Criminal Sentence, and Victim Payouts

The MomPOV lawsuit refers to a set of civil and criminal cases against Douglas Wiederhold, the owner of MomPOV.com, and his company Domi Publications, LLC. In January 2020, a California judge entered a $13 million fraud verdict against Wiederhold, Domi, and their co-defendants tied to the GirlsDoPorn operation. Six years later, on January 30, 2026, Wiederhold was sentenced in federal court to four years in prison for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.¹

How MomPOV Was Tied to GirlsDoPorn

MomPOV.com, a site featuring women over 30, was co-founded in 2010 by Wiederhold and Michael Pratt, the ringleader of GirlsDoPorn. Domi Publications, LLC, the company behind MomPOV, took its name from a combination of “Douglas” and “Michael.”² The two ran MomPOV alongside GirlsDoPorn and a related site, GirlsDoToys, through a web of corporate entities. After February 2015, some parts of MomPOV were shifted into a separate entity, but a California court later found that all the associated companies operated as a “single business enterprise.”³

Wiederhold, 42, was not only a website owner. He was also a paid performer and salaried employee of GirlsDoPorn, appearing in 71 videos and helping run the operation between at least January 2011 and March 2012. Federal prosecutors said he traveled with Pratt to pick up victims at airports and transport them to filming locations in San Diego. Under Pratt’s direction, he told the women their videos would never appear online and would be sold only on foreign DVDs or VHS tapes in Australia. The videos were in fact uploaded to girlsdoporn.com and promoted on sites like Pornhub, and Wiederhold kept filming with victims after he knew the material was being distributed publicly.¹⁴

The $13 Million Civil Fraud Verdict

In 2016, 22 women filed suit as Jane Does in San Diego Superior Court against GirlsDoPorn, its affiliated entities, and several individuals, including Wiederhold and Domi Publications. The consolidated case alleged intentional misrepresentation, fraudulent concealment, false promise, misappropriation of name and likeness, and deceptive business practices under California law.⁵

The plaintiffs said they had answered Craigslist ads for “clothed modeling” jobs. Once they arrived in San Diego, they were pressured into signing contracts and filming pornographic videos after being told the content would only be sold on private DVDs overseas and would never appear online. Women who testified said Wiederhold personally gave them those assurances and then refused to speak with them after the videos surfaced on the internet.³⁴

After a 99-day bench trial that began in August 2019, Judge Kevin A. Enright ruled for the plaintiffs on every claim on January 2, 2020. He found the defendants had run a “bait-and-switch” scheme and that their contracts were “invalid and unenforceable—part and parcel of Defendants’ fraudulent scheme.”³⁵⁶ The plaintiffs received $13 million in compensatory and punitive damages. With nearly $8 million in attorney’s fees and $781,000 in costs, the total judgment came to $21,396,478.16.⁷

Domi Publications Bankruptcy and the Malpractice Suit

Two weeks after the verdict, Domi Publications filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Nevada on January 16, 2020. The 22 Jane Does were listed as creditors. The bankruptcy case was terminated in November 2024.⁸

In February 2022, the Chapter 7 trustee, Lenard Schwartzer, sued the attorneys who had represented Domi during the civil trial, George Rikos and Clyde DeWitt, for legal malpractice in San Diego Superior Court. The trustee alleged the lawyers failed to settle the case when they had the chance, including rejecting a pretrial offer from the plaintiffs to resolve all claims against Domi for $16,478, roughly $749 per plaintiff. According to the complaint, the attorneys also failed to resolve a disagreement between Pratt and Wiederhold over whether to accept the offer, and that inaction led directly to the $21 million judgment and Domi’s bankruptcy.⁷ The outcome of that suit has not been publicly reported.

Federal Criminal Charges and Sentence

On September 14, 2023, a federal grand jury in the Southern District of California indicted Wiederhold on one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and five counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, each tied to a different victim. The conspiracy count alone carried a possible life sentence. He was arrested in Michigan and appeared in federal court in San Diego the same day.⁴

Wiederhold pleaded guilty on April 15, 2024, to a single federal conspiracy charge.⁹ U.S. District Judge Janis Sammartino sentenced him on January 30, 2026, to four years in federal prison, making him the last of seven defendants sentenced in the GirlsDoPorn criminal case. He was ordered to self-surrender to the Bureau of Prisons in Michigan by March 27, 2026, with a restitution hearing scheduled for March 6, 2026.¹ Co-owner Michael Pratt, who fled the United States in 2019 and was arrested in Barcelona in December 2022, was sentenced separately on September 8, 2025, to 27 years for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion.¹⁰

Have the Victims Been Paid?

Winning the judgment turned out to be easier than collecting it. As of February 2022, the 22 Jane Does had recovered none of their awarded damages.⁷ The defendants’ network of shell companies, Pratt’s years on the run, and Domi’s bankruptcy all complicated recovery. The plaintiffs’ lawyers, from Holm Law Group, Stokes O’Brien, and Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, have continued to pursue assets, and no confirmed distributions to the victims have been publicly reported.⁵ The March 2026 restitution hearing in Wiederhold’s criminal case offers another possible route to compensation.¹
