What Nelson Peltz Alleged

The complaint alleged that the planners had made “material misrepresentations” about their experience, that no signed contract was ever in place, and that they had failed to manage basic tasks like a guest list of more than 500 people. It referenced a March 2022 demand letter titled “Demand for Return of Deposit and Notice of Civil Theft.” The formal claims were unjust enrichment, fraud in the inducement, and violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Practices Act.1UniCourt. What the Planners Alleged
In February 2023, Braghin and Grijalba countersued for breach of contract, seeking more than $50,000 in damages plus legal costs. Their position was that the $159,000 deposit was earned compensation for nine days of work, during which they said they worked 17-hour days managing a list of more than 500 guests. One filing claimed Nicola and Claudia insisted Victoria Beckham be kept in the dark about planning errors, and that Claudia told a planner Nelson could not learn the true hair-and-makeup cost, allegedly over $100,000 plus travel, because he would “kill her, and be so mad.”8The Tab. The Text Messages in the Court File
The countersuit attached roughly 150 pages of exhibits, most of it screenshots from a group chat that included Nicola, Claudia, Brooklyn, and the planners. Nicola wrote that she was “tired of catching mistakes on this RSVP list” and pressed the planners on why Lewis Hamilton had been marked as attending when he could not come.10Elle Australia. The exhibits also showed the planners were asked to vet a 669-person guest list, including removing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, with Nicola requiring her publicist to pre-approve any politician invitees. According to the filings, Nelson Peltz at one point wanted to cancel the wedding entirely, calling it “a shit show,” while Claudia argued that doing so would “destroy Nicola’s career.”9Rolling Stone. The Move To Drop Nicola and Claudia
On March 9, 2023, Kreitzer filed a motion to remove Nicola and Claudia from the countersuit, arguing that neither was a party to the contract between Nelson Peltz and Plan Design Events and calling their inclusion “salacious, meritless and legally deficient.”12Vanity Fair. How the Case Ended
The case never went to trial. The parties filed a stipulation for dismissal on September 6, 2023, and the court entered an order of dismissal the following day.
