If you’re waiting on a Nissan settlement check, the timing depends on which case you filed under. Payments from the older Stringer CVT settlement covering the Rogue, Pathfinder, and Infiniti QX60 have already been distributed. Checks from the Beaver CVT settlement covering the Murano and Maxima have not gone out, because the court had not granted final approval as of the most recent filings. Payments from the Taylor data breach settlement received final approval on June 12, 2026, but no mailing date has been announced.
Data Breach Settlement Payments (Taylor v. Nissan)
The $1.5 million settlement in Taylor et al. v. Nissan North America, Inc. (Case No. 25-0975-BC) resolves claims from a November 2023 ransomware attack that compromised personal data, including Social Security numbers, of more than 53,000 current and former Nissan employees.1CBS News. The court granted final approval on June 12, 2026, and the May 26, 2026 claims deadline has passed. According to the settlement website, benefits will be sent “as soon as possible” after final approval and the resolution of any appeals. Payment amounts depend on what you claimed:
- Up to $450 for documented ordinary out-of-pocket losses tied to the breach.
- Up to $4,500 for documented extraordinary losses.
- Up to $100 as an alternative cash payment for class members who didn’t document losses, subject to reduction if claim volume is high.

Beaver CVT Settlement Payments (Murano and Maxima)
Beaver v. Nissan North America, Inc. (Case No. 3:22-cv-00785) covers 2015–2018 Nissan Murano and 2016–2018 Nissan Maxima vehicles equipped with continuously variable transmissions.5MuranoMaximaCVTSettlement.com. Fleet Notice Exhibit
No checks have been mailed. The court granted preliminary approval on December 5, 2024, and held a fairness hearing on March 28, 2025, but as of a July 2, 2025 court filing the settlement still had not received final approval. If your claim is approved once the case is finalized, the settlement offers a powertrain warranty extension to 84 months or 84,000 miles from the vehicle’s original in-service date, full reimbursement for qualifying dealer repairs within that extended window, up to $5,000 for qualifying repairs done at independent shops, and a $1,500 voucher toward a new Nissan or Infiniti for owners who had two or more transmission replacements or repairs.8ClassAction.org. Older CVT Settlements: Checks Already Sent
The largest Nissan CVT case, Stringer v. Nissan of North America, Inc. (Case No. 3:21-cv-00099), covered roughly 1.9 million 2014–2018 Rogue, 2015–2018 Pathfinder, and 2015–2018 Infiniti QX60 vehicles. The court granted final approval on March 23, 2022, and the claims program has since concluded. The Stringer benefits included a 24-month or 24,000-mile warranty extension, full reimbursement for qualifying dealer repairs, up to $5,000 for independent-shop repairs, and a $1,000 new-vehicle voucher for owners with two or more transmission repairs.11ClassAction.org.
