Why Bail Was Denied Four Times
Combs was denied bail four times before trial. The first attempt, a $50 million package secured by a $48 million Miami mansion, was rejected by a federal magistrate at his initial appearance. Jury selection began on May 5, 2025, before Judge Subramanian in the Southern District of New York. The seated jury of eight men and four women, aged 30 to 74, sat through 28 days of testimony over roughly seven weeks. The defense, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, called no witnesses and rested in roughly 20 to 30 minutes after entering some text messages into evidence. Deliberations began on June 30, 2025.
