Porsha Williams Divorce Settlement: Prenup, Appeal, and Alimony

Porsha Williams’ divorce settlement from Simon Guobadia, finalized on June 10, 2025, awarded the Real Housewives of Atlanta star $40,000 per month in alimony, possession of the couple’s roughly $7 million Sandy Springs mansion, a 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost, and $224,000 for her legal fees. A Georgia judge enforced the prenuptial agreement the couple signed days before their November 2022 wedding, rejecting Guobadia’s attempt to void it. The case has not gone quietly since: his appeal was denied, Williams says he owes her more than $667,000 under the agreement, and Guobadia has been deported to Nigeria.

What Williams Received

The judgment turned on the prenup, which shielded most of Guobadia’s business holdings but guaranteed Williams a defined package. The main pieces:

The settlement left Guobadia’s broader wealth largely untouched. Estimates of his net worth have varied wildly across outlets, from about $40 million to more than $300 million, most of it tied to his Atlanta-based petroleum and fuel logistics company, SIMCOL Group.3Yahoo Entertainment. Why the Prenup Held Up

The couple signed their prenuptial agreement on November 17, 2022, shortly before their two-day wedding. Williams said in court filings that the terms had been “contemplated and extensively negotiated for months” before signing.4Fulton County Clerk of Superior Court. Guobadia pushed to throw the agreement out. His main argument was that Williams misled him during negotiations by suggesting she was leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta for good. He claimed he never would have accepted the financial terms if he had known she would return to the show. Her 2024 comeback, he alleged, brought her between $8 million and $9 million through her Bravo salary and a wider talent deal with NBCUniversal.1People. Williams responded that she had gone back to work out of necessity. She said Guobadia had failed to meet obligations imposed under a Temporary Order during the divorce, leaving her to cover legal bills and living costs on her own.5Essence. Guobadia’s Appeal Was Denied

Guobadia took the ruling to the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, repeating his misrepresentation argument and adding a claim that Williams had violated a confidentiality clause by discussing his finances on television and in the press.6WBLS. On September 9, 2025, the appellate court denied his application for a discretionary appeal, leaving the trial court’s judgment in place. The court noted that Williams’ status as a reality TV celebrity was well-known to Guobadia when he signed the prenup, and it said his claim that SIMCOL had lost its reported $296 million valuation following his ICE detention “strains credibility.”7Us Magazine. Williams Says He Owes Her More Than $667,000

Winning on paper and collecting turned out to be two different problems. On August 28, 2025, Williams’ attorneys filed a petition for contempt in Fulton County alleging that Guobadia had failed to comply with the settlement and owed her at least $667,359.55.911Alive. The total broke down into several categories: more than $164,200 in mortgage payments and carrying costs on the Sandy Springs home, $80,000 in unpaid alimony, and more than $198,200 in property taxes, along with other amounts.1People. ICE Detention and Deportation

Enforcement got harder still because of Guobadia’s immigration status. On February 19, 2025, while the divorce was still being litigated, he was taken into ICE custody and held at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.12People. The detention delayed a scheduled prenup hearing and complicated the closing months of the case. Williams paid at least two child-support payments for Guobadia’s sons while he was detained and could not access his funds, though Guobadia later described the payments as a play for public sympathy.8Page Six. A Very Different Outcome From Her First Divorce

Williams’ second settlement looked nothing like her first. When she split from former NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart in 2013, she left with essentially nothing: no alimony, no share of his retirement, no property, no cash. Stewart kept two houses, two plots of land, multiple vehicles, his full NFL retirement, and 100 percent of his companies. Williams got her engagement ring, $19,000 toward legal fees, and personal items such as jewelry and clothing.15Essence.
