RAYUS Settlement: Eligibility, Payouts, and Key Dates

The RAYUS Radiology settlement is an up-to-$18 million class action resolution over allegations that the imaging company’s website used tracking pixels to share patient information with Meta and other third parties without consent. Eligible class members who filed a valid claim by January 29, 2026 were entitled to a $25 cash payment and a code for one free year of a privacy product called Privacy Shield Pro. The claims window has closed, but Privacy Shield Pro enrollment remains open to eligible class members through July 12, 2026.¹

What the Lawsuits Alleged

Two cases produced the settlement. Jennifer Fleece v. Diagnostic Services Holdings, Inc. d/b/a RAYUS Radiology was filed on May 17, 2023 in Marion County Superior Court in Indiana. Christensen, et al. v. Medical Scanning Consultants, P.A. d/b/a RAYUS Radiology followed on August 1, 2023 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.²

Plaintiffs alleged RAYUS embedded tracking pixels and Facebook’s Conversions API on its website, capturing “every click, keystroke and intimate detail” of patient interactions, including which providers, locations, and healthcare services patients searched for, and transmitting that data to Meta and other third parties to fuel marketing.³ The claims invoked state consumer protection and privacy laws in Indiana, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Texas, along with common law claims for negligence, invasion of privacy, breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, and breach of fiduciary duty.⁴

RAYUS denied all allegations. In a September 2023 court filing, the company said it “did nothing wrong” and would likely have prevailed at trial but chose to settle to “avoid the expense, burden and uncertainties” of continued litigation.³

Who Qualifies as a Class Member

You are a class member only if all three conditions apply. You are a U.S. resident who was a patient of RAYUS Radiology or one of its predecessor brands (Center for Diagnostic Imaging, Insight Imaging, or Diagnostic Centers of America). You held a patient portal account between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2023. And you visited the RAYUS Radiology website at least once during that same period.⁵

Excluded are judges and court staff, RAYUS officers, directors, and affiliates, class counsel, and anyone who timely opted out.⁶

What Class Members Get

Eligible claimants who filed by the deadline are entitled to a one-time $25 cash payment. Payments are to be issued by check within 30 days of final approval and the exhaustion of any appeals, though claimants could choose PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. Uncashed checks expire 180 days after issuance.⁶

All class members are also eligible for a code redeemable for one free year of Privacy Shield Pro, which the settlement describes as including dark web monitoring, a VPN, password defense tools, digital vaults, and data broker removal services.⁷

The $18 million figure is a ceiling on RAYUS’s total obligation across every category of spending: cash payments, notice and administration, attorneys’ fees and costs, incentive awards, and the Privacy Shield Pro product.⁴ RAYUS itself estimated actual payouts to class members would land between $2 million and $5 million.³ Some reporting has described the deal as “up to $6 million,” which appears to reflect the $6,085,000 cap on attorneys’ fees rather than the overall settlement value.⁶

Key Dates

The online claim form is no longer accepting submissions.⁸ If you missed the January 29, 2026 filing window, the settlement documents do not provide for late claims.

Where the Settlement Stands Now

The Minnesota federal case was formally dismissed with prejudice on January 15, 2026 through a stipulated order, consistent with the settlement resolving both actions.²

The settlement website remains active. Its language notes that class members “will be able to sign up” for Privacy Shield “if the settlement becomes effective,” wording that suggests the final approval process may still be concluding.¹ Payments to claimants are tied to final approval and the exhaustion of any appeals, so distribution timing depends on that step.
