What the Breach Exposed
Rebound detected suspicious activity on its network on February 3, 2024. An investigation found that an unauthorized actor accessed and either viewed or copied files between February 1 and February 3, 2024.2California Attorney General. Who Was Included in the Settlement
The class covered all living individuals residing in the United States whose personal information may have been accessed in the breach, including anyone who received a notice from Rebound about the incident. What Class Members Could Claim
Claimants could pick one of two cash options:
- Cash Payment A: reimbursement of up to $5,000 for actual, out-of-pocket expenses tied to the breach, such as identity-theft losses, credit monitoring fees, or costs to replace identification documents. Receipts or other proof were required for losses between February 1, 2024, and May 28, 2026.
- Cash Payment B: an estimated $75 flat payment with no documentation required. The final amount could go up or down based on how many valid claims were filed.
On top of the cash choice, every class member could enroll in two years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete. Key Deadlines
The deadline to file a claim, opt out, or object was May 28, 2026. Claims could be filed online at ReboundDataSettlement.com or mailed to the settlement administrator, Simpluris, at a P.O. Box in Santa Ana, California.6ReboundDataSettlement.com. Where Things Stand After Final Approval
At the June 12, 2026, fairness hearing, plaintiffs’ attorney Kaleigh Boyd told The Columbian that the claims rate was among the highest she had seen in a class action, and she said the response supported the court’s finding that the settlement was fair, reasonable, and adequate. The exact number of claims filed has not been publicly disclosed, and as of mid-June 2026, payments had not yet been distributed to claimants.1The Columbian. Those who selected reimbursement for documented losses will be paid based on the receipts and proof they submitted, up to the $5,000 cap.
