Roblox Settlement Claim Form: Eligibility, Requirements, and Status

The Roblox settlement claim form is no longer being accepted. The filing deadline was August 10, 2023, in Doe v. Roblox Corporation, No. 3:21-cv-03943-WHO, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, which created a $10 million fund for users whose purchased virtual items were removed by Roblox’s content moderation without a refund or credit.1Simpluris. Notice of Class Action Settlement and Final Approval Hearing If you were a class member and never submitted a form, you have not necessarily lost your share: most class members were set to receive an automatic Robux credit without filing anything. The form only mattered for people choosing cash.

Who Was Eligible to File

The class covered anyone in the United States who held a Roblox account before May 11, 2023, and had virtual items removed through Roblox’s content moderation process. The suit alleged Roblox deleted purchased content without refunding the Robux spent on those items. A small group of accounts was specifically excluded; the settlement website at www.RobloxSettlement.com included a tool to check whether a given account fell into that excluded group.1Simpluris. Why Most People Didn’t Need the Form

The default payment was an automatic Robux credit. Eligible accounts were set to receive Robux at a rate of one Robux per $0.01, so a $5 share would come through as 500 Robux deposited directly into the account.2Classaction.org. No form, email, or account action was required to receive the credit.

When the Claim Form Was Required

The form existed for one purpose: choosing cash instead of Robux. That option was only available to class members whose individual share exceeded $10, and only to users who received a Unique Claim ID from Roblox or the settlement administrator.1Simpluris. Notice of Class Action Settlement and Final Approval Hearing The ID arrived by email or in the account’s “My Inbox.” If you never received one, you were not eligible for cash, and your payment would default to the Robux credit.

What the Form Asked For

The cash claim form lived at www.RobloxSettlement.com and required the Unique Claim ID. That ID linked the claim to the account’s transaction history so the administrator could calculate the value of the deleted items.1Simpluris. Notice of Class Action Settlement and Final Approval Hearing Before submitting, users could plug the Claim ID into the site to see an estimate of their share. The form then asked how the user wanted to receive the cash payment.

If You Think You Were a Class Member but Never Got a Claim ID

Class members who believed they belonged in the class but never received a Unique Claim ID could contact the settlement administrator directly through www.RobloxSettlement.com and provide enough information to prove they owned the Roblox account in question.1Simpluris. Notice of Class Action Settlement and Final Approval Hearing Even if the administrator confirmed class membership, cash eligibility still depended on the share exceeding the $10 threshold. Below that, the compensation came as a Robux credit.

Where Things Stand Now

The court held a Final Approval Hearing on September 27, 2023. The settlement notice stated that Robux credits and cash payments would not be distributed until after final approval and until any appeals were resolved.1Simpluris. Notice of Class Action Settlement and Final Approval Hearing Class members who elected Robux credits would see the amount appear in their account balance once distribution began. Those who filed for cash would receive payment through the method they picked on their form. The settlement site remains the designated hub for distribution updates, so if you were in the class and are still waiting, that is the place to check.
