Sprouts Class Action Settlement: Eligibility, Payouts, and Deadlines

The Sprouts class action settlement is a $5 million deal resolving claims that Sprouts Farmers Market printed too many digits of customers’ credit, debit, and EBT card numbers on receipts. If you shopped at Sprouts during the class period and received one of those receipts, you can file a claim at SettleInfo.com by August 5, 2026. Payments will be pro rata shares of the fund, sent out after the court grants final approval at a hearing scheduled for November 19, 2026.

Who Qualifies

The class covers anyone in the United States who received an electronically printed receipt from a Sprouts store showing more than the last five digits of their payment card number. The qualifying dates depend on the card:

Credit and debit card transactions between August 16, 2020, and October 31, 2022.
EBT card transactions between March 15, 2021, and April 15, 2023.¹

Sprouts operates in 23 states, and the class is nationwide. Employees, officers, directors, and attorneys of Sprouts and its affiliates are excluded, along with the presiding judge.² The settlement agreement estimates that roughly 3,351,078 individual cards were affected.¹

How To File a Claim

Claims can be filed online at SettleInfo.com or by mail. The deadline is August 5, 2026; online and fax submissions must be in by 11:59 p.m. ET that day.³

There are two claim paths.

If you received an emailed settlement notice with a claim number that starts with “P,” you can log in to the SettleInfo.com portal and file a short-form claim by attesting that at least one of the flagged transactions was on your personal card.

If you did not get a notice, you file Claim Form-R and attach proof of purchase. That means either a Sprouts receipt showing more than the last five digits of your card number, or a credit, debit, or EBT card statement showing a Sprouts transaction during the qualifying window. Card statements should be redacted to show only your name, address, and the Sprouts transaction details.³

Mailed claims go to Atticus Administration, LLC, P.O. Box 64053, St. Paul, MN 55164. The fax line is 1-888-326-6411, and the administrator’s phone number is 1-800-958-1026. You can only submit one claim, no matter how many qualifying purchases you made.³

How Much You Could Get

There is no set per-person amount. Every valid claimant gets a pro rata share of what’s left in the $5 million fund after the court-approved deductions. Those deductions are:

Attorney fees of $1,666,666.67, or one-third of the fund.
Litigation costs up to $75,000.
Settlement administration costs up to $661,000.
Class representative awards of $10,000 each for the two named plaintiffs, Larry Tran and Robert Cohen.²

After deductions, roughly $2.58 million is expected to be available for class member payments.² Your individual check depends on how many valid claims come in. Fewer claims, larger checks.

Checks must be cashed within 180 days. Uncashed money will be redistributed to claimants who cashed their first checks, and anything still left after that goes to the Electronic Frontier Foundation as a cy pres donation. The fund is non-reversionary, so Sprouts cannot recover any of it.²

Key Dates

The settlement received preliminary approval on December 8, 2025.¹ The remaining milestones are:

Opt-out and objection deadline: April 7, 2026 (already passed).
Claim filing deadline: August 5, 2026.
Final approval hearing: November 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., before Judge William F. Highberger at Los Angeles County Superior Court, 312 North Spring Street, Department SS10.³

Payments won’t go out until the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved.¹ If you missed the April opt-out deadline and did nothing, you remain in the class and can still file a claim.

What the Case Was About

The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, known as FACTA, bars businesses from printing more than the last five digits of a credit or debit card number on electronically generated receipts, and also prohibits printing the card’s expiration date. Congress passed the rule to cut down on identity theft and fraud from discarded or stolen receipts. Willful violations carry statutory damages of $100 to $1,000 per receipt.

Larry Tran filed suit in August 2022 alleging that Sprouts receipts displayed too many digits of customers’ card numbers. Robert Cohen filed a related case the following year, and the two were consolidated in Los Angeles County Superior Court.⁴ Sprouts denied wrongdoing and attributed the problem to a “vendor-related IT issue” affecting self-checkout kiosks.⁵ As part of the deal, Sprouts also agreed to put in place a written policy prohibiting the printing of more than the last five digits of any card number, or the expiration date, on customer receipts.⁶
