Teddi Page Charges: Louisiana Law, Bond, and Sacred Heart

Teddi Page, a 29-year-old former biology teacher at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, was charged in February 2026 with one misdemeanor count of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student. The charges against Teddi Page stem from an alleged sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student at the all-girls Catholic school, and they came to light after the student’s mother discovered explicit messages, photos, and videos on an old phone still logged into her daughter’s social media accounts.¹²

How the Mother Discovered the Relationship

The student’s mother went through an old phone that remained signed in to her daughter’s social media accounts. On it, she found texts, pictures, and videos that pointed to a sexual relationship between Page and her daughter. She reported what she found to school officials.²

The arrest warrant referenced “explicit texts, photos and videos exchanged between a biology teacher and one of her students,” according to reporting by The Times-Picayune.³

What the Charge Means Under Louisiana Law

Page was booked under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.4, which criminalizes sexual conduct between an educator and a student who is 17 or older but under 21 when the age gap exceeds four years. The statute covers sexual intercourse, lewd or lascivious acts committed in person or virtually, and intentional sexual touching. The student’s consent is not a defense, and neither is the educator’s lack of knowledge of the student’s age.⁴

A first offense is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. A second or subsequent offense carries up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.⁵

Arrest, Bond, and Protection Order

Page turned herself in to the New Orleans Police Department on Thursday, February 5, 2026.⁶ She appeared in court two days later, on February 7, and a judge set her bond at $15,000.⁷

Reports on the protection order diverged. WDSU reported that a judge granted a stay-away order for the victim’s mother.¹ Local 12 reported that a protection order against Page was denied because the student was 18 and the relationship was described as consensual.⁸

What Sacred Heart Did

Page had taught in the Academy’s Upper School division since August 2025. Once school leaders learned of concerns about her interactions with a student, they escorted her off campus, terminated her employment, and referred the matter to the New Orleans Police Department.⁶

In its official statement, the school said it had followed its safety protocols and was cooperating fully with law enforcement. It said Page had passed a thorough background check and had favorable references when she was hired, and that nothing in her history had raised concerns. The school said it was providing counseling and support to the student and her family and resources for other students affected by the news.¹ Sacred Heart also emailed parents about the situation and asked anyone with additional information about Page to contact authorities.⁶
