Teyana Taylor Divorce Settlement: Houses, Payments, and $70K Contempt

The Teyana Taylor divorce settlement, finalized July 1, 2024, in Fulton County, Georgia, gave the singer and actress four luxury homes valued together at more than $10 million, a seven-figure cash payout from former NBA player Iman Shumpert, several high-end vehicles, and full ownership of her businesses. Shumpert kept three properties and was ordered to pay $8,000 a month in child support plus private school tuition for the couple’s two daughters. A judge imposed the terms after the parties failed to reach a private agreement, and the final judgment was sealed the day it was entered.

What Teyana Taylor Received

Taylor was awarded four homes with a combined estimated value above $10 million. One is the couple’s former family home in Alpharetta, Georgia, purchased in 2020 and featured on their reality series. The three other properties have not been publicly identified.¹

On top of the real estate, Taylor received a one-time seven-figure cash payment from Shumpert, a $300,000 Maybach, a $70,000 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, and a tour bus. She also kept full ownership of her business interests, including the Fade2Fit fitness brand, a choreography center, and her fashion partnerships.¹

The file does not indicate that any spousal support or alimony was included.²

What Iman Shumpert Kept and Owes

Shumpert retained a South Fulton, Georgia, property he bought in 2015 for $427,000, a second property in Decatur, Georgia, and a condo in Miami. Current values for those properties have not been publicly reported.¹

On the support side, Shumpert was ordered to pay $8,000 per month for the couple’s two daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. and Rue Rose Shumpert, and to cover private school tuition for both.³

How the Terms Were Set

Taylor filed for divorce in January 2023, though the filing stayed out of public view until November. She confirmed the separation publicly in September 2023.⁴

Ahead of finalization, a judge ordered both sides to submit their settlement in writing by noon on June 27, 2024, to resolve remaining disputes over the parenting plan and child-support addendum.⁵ According to Taylor’s own later filings, the parties did not reach a private agreement, and the judge imposed the terms.² The divorce was finalized on July 1, 2024.

For financial scale: Shumpert’s net worth has been estimated at between $10 million and $16 million as of 2026,⁶ and Taylor’s at roughly $5 million.⁷ The real estate alone represents a large share of the couple’s combined wealth.

The Sealed Judgment and the $70,000 Contempt Order

Under a July 1, 2024, order, the final judgment was sealed and both parties were prohibited from disclosing, revealing, or discussing its contents, or any orders or pleadings in the case. Shumpert’s attorney, Stephen C. Steele, confirmed the parties agreed to those terms, which the court then formalized.⁸

In March 2025, Taylor accused Shumpert of leaking court documents to entertainment blogs and, on March 18, filed a motion asking the court to hold him in contempt, seeking a $1,000 fine and a 20-day jail sentence.⁸ Shumpert denied the allegations through counsel, who told TMZ Sports that his client had “never whatsoever leaked any allegations or claims” from the case. Taylor later said on Instagram Live she was not actually trying to send him to jail and had filed the motion to “get him to stop.”⁹

Both sides accused each other of violating the confidentiality order at a July 25, 2025, hearing.¹⁰ In an order filed August 5, 2025, in Fulton County Superior Court, the judge found Taylor in “willful contempt” for violating the final judgment’s prohibition against disclosing “summaries, abstracts, portions and descriptions” of the settlement, citing an Instagram video she posted in March 2025 discussing the divorce.¹¹

The court also found Taylor had failed to provide evidence that Shumpert leaked anything, writing that “it appears Taylor and her counsel failed to engage in even a minimal amount of diligence to determine whether her claim of contempt had any factual support at all before the petition was filed.”¹⁰ Taylor had refused to answer questions about her assets and income during the proceedings, calling that information “completely irrelevant.”¹² The judge denied her request that Shumpert pay her legal fees and instead ordered Taylor to pay $70,000 toward his, citing her work on three films and a booked television series since the divorce was finalized.¹¹

Taylor confirmed she paid the $70,000 in late August 2025.¹³ On The Breakfast Club on August 27, 2025, she called it “the best lil’ coin I ever spent in my life,” adding, “If it’s gonna give me my peace and we can be done with this for good, I sent that wire so fast.”¹⁴

Where Things Stand Now

Taylor and Shumpert continue to co-parent their two daughters. In a January 2026 interview, Taylor said, “Divorce, to me, is you’re grieving the death of a living being. I think once children are involved, you understand the importance of really still having to show up for each other. At least for the next 18 years, and being the best co-parents that we can be.”¹⁵ She has also said publicly that she is frustrated by how long the case has followed her: “Every single time something amazing is going on in my life, it’s something about this divorce.”¹⁶
