Tubi Streaming Settlement: Payout Amounts, Delivery, and Timing

The Tubi streaming settlement is a $19.99 million class action resolution in Gregory v. Tubi, Inc., filed in Illinois state court over allegations that the free streaming service shared users’ viewing data with third-party advertisers in violation of the federal Video Privacy Protection Act. Payments to eligible class members began on October 17, 2025, after an appeal was dismissed the previous month.¹

Who Qualified and What the Deadlines Were

The class covered anyone who used Tubi between June 23, 2021, and August 26, 2024. The judge, Tubi and its corporate affiliates, and anyone who opted out were excluded.²

The claim window has closed. Class members had until October 31, 2024, to opt out or object, and until November 28, 2024, to file a claim form at videostreamingsettlement.com.³ If you did not submit a claim during that period, you are not receiving a payment, but you are still bound by the release of claims against Tubi unless you opted out.²

How Much Claimants Get

The per-person amount was never set in advance. The $19,990,000 fund is divided equally among all valid claimants after deductions for administrative costs, a $5,000 service award for lead plaintiff Jacqueline Gregory, and attorneys’ fees of up to 35 percent sought by Class Counsel McGuire Law, P.C. The court had authority to approve less than requested.²

Because payouts are pro rata, the individual share depends on how many people filed valid claims.⁴ Roughly 24,000 class members represented by the law firm Keller Postman opted out to pursue individual arbitration claims instead, which reduced the claimant pool.⁵

How Payments Are Being Issued

The settlement administrator, Simpluris, began issuing payments on October 17, 2025.¹ Payments are going out digitally first. If a digital payment cannot be processed successfully, the administrator has said it will re-issue that payment as a check.³ If you filed a valid claim and have not received anything, the address and payment method on file are the two places to check first.

Why It Took Until Late 2025

Two things pushed the payment date back. First, the final approval hearing scheduled for December 4, 2024, was continued to January 8, 2025, amid a dispute between class counsel and the mass-arbitration firm representing opt-outs.⁵ Second, after the court granted final approval, an appeal was filed. That appeal was dismissed on September 26, 2025, which cleared distribution to begin.¹

What the Lawsuit Alleged

The case was filed by lead plaintiff Jacqueline Gregory in the Circuit Court for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Winnebago County, Illinois (Case No. 2024-LA-0000209). The complaint alleged that Tubi disclosed users’ personally identifiable information to third-party advertisers without the consent required by the Video Privacy Protection Act.²

Tubi denied violating the law or engaging in any wrongdoing. The settlement is not an admission of liability.²
