What happened to T.I. is a long story told through court dockets: a federal weapons conviction and prison sentence in 2009, a return to prison in 2010 for a probation violation, an SEC penalty in 2020 over a cryptocurrency promotion, a wave of sexual assault allegations beginning in 2021 that produced no criminal charges and a dismissed civil suit, and an ongoing intellectual property fight with toymaker MGA Entertainment. As of mid-2026, the Atlanta rapper has retired from solo recording, released a final album called Kill the King, and moved into stand-up comedy, film, and real estate development.
