Who Did Diddy Kill? Tupac, Biggie, and Kim Porter Claims

Sean “Diddy” Combs has never been charged with killing anyone. The question of who Diddy killed comes up because allegations and conspiracy theories have tied him to several deaths over three decades — most prominently the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, and to a lesser extent the 1997 killing of the Notorious B.I.G. and the 2018 death of his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter. He has denied involvement in all of them. He was also a co-organizer of a 1991 charity event where nine people died in a stampede, and he was present at a 1999 nightclub shooting where three people were wounded. His 2025 federal conviction and 50-month prison sentence are unrelated to any killing.

The Tupac Shakur Bounty Allegation

The most persistent claim is that Combs offered a $1 million bounty for the deaths of Tupac Shakur and Death Row Records head Marion “Suge” Knight before Shakur was shot in a Las Vegas drive-by in September 1996. The source of that claim is Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis, a former leader of the South Side Crips.1Spokesman-Review. Man Charged in Tupac Shakur’s Death Claims Sean Diddy Combs Offered Bounty Davis first described the alleged offer in a 2008 DEA interview, repeated it in a 2009 Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department interview, and expanded on it in his 2019 book Compton Street Legend.2Fox 5 Vegas. Court Documents Say Tupac Murder Suspect Implicated Sean Diddy Combs in Killing

According to the DEA report, Davis said Combs told him he “would give anything for those dudes’ heads” and later identified Shakur and Knight as “problems I need to be handled.”1Spokesman-Review. Man Charged in Tupac Shakur’s Death Claims Sean Diddy Combs Offered Bounty Davis also alleged that Combs paid an associate known as “Zip” (Eric Von Martin) to facilitate the killing, and that three days after the shooting he overheard Combs ask someone on the phone, “Was that us?”2Fox 5 Vegas. Law enforcement has never corroborated any of this. A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said Combs “has never been considered a suspect in the Tupac Shakur homicide investigation.”3Yahoo Entertainment. Tupac Shakur Family Hires Lawyer to Investigate Link to Diddy Davis is the only living person who claims to have heard the alleged offer, and no physical evidence has been produced linking Combs to a murder-for-hire. Retired LAPD detective Greg Kading, who investigated the case, said he has questioned whether Combs’ past comments were real murder orders or born of “fear and desperation.” Combs has called the allegations “pure fiction” and “fabricated attempts to extort windfall payments.”1Spokesman-Review. Civil Suits That Repeat the Claim

Several civil plaintiffs have revived the Tupac allegation inside unrelated lawsuits. Ashley Parham sued Combs in October 2024 for sexual assault, alleging the attack was “payback” after she told him on a 2018 FaceTime call that she believed he was involved in Shakur’s murder. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office had investigated her underlying 2018 report and found the claims “unfounded.”4ABC 7 News. Sean Diddy Combs Orinda California Gang Rape Tupac Death5BBC News. The Keffe D Trial

Davis himself was arrested in September 2023 and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon in Shakur’s killing. He has pleaded not guilty. His trial has been pushed back multiple times and is currently scheduled for August 10, 2026.8Fox 5 Vegas. The Notorious B.I.G.

Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace was shot and killed in a Los Angeles drive-by on March 9, 1997, six months after Shakur. The murder remains unsolved and no one has ever been arrested. Combs has never been charged or named as a suspect.9Yahoo Entertainment. Why Diddy Is Linked to Tupac and Biggie’s Murders

The claims linking him to Biggie’s death are indirect. In the docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, Kirk Burrowes said Combs “ushered Biggie to his death” by insisting on hosting a Los Angeles party during the height of the East Coast–West Coast feud instead of letting Wallace go to London. In the same series, Greg Kading said Combs acted as a “hindrance” during the investigation and “stonewalled” potential witnesses. Combs told The Wendy Williams Show in 2017 that he felt “some sort of responsibility” for Wallace’s death because he had let Biggie talk him out of canceling the Los Angeles trip. He has otherwise denied any involvement.9Yahoo Entertainment. Why Diddy Is Linked to Tupac and Biggie’s Murders

Kim Porter

Kim Porter, Combs’ former longtime girlfriend and the mother of three of his children, died in November 2018 at age 47. In January 2019 the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner determined her cause of death was lobar pneumonia.10Vanity Fair. Kim Porter Memoir and Diddy Conspiracies Porter’s children have publicly stated that “there was no foul play” and called rumors to the contrary “false and hurtful.”11Billboard. Al B. Conspiracy theories picked up after Combs was indicted in September 2024. Singer Al B. Sure!, who shares a son with Porter, publicly called for an investigation and alleged she had been “taken from us” to stop her from exposing Combs.11Billboard. Al B. Sure Calls for Investigation Into Kim Porter Death A self-published book titled Kim’s Lost Words, said to be based on her notes, appeared on Amazon in September 2024 describing alleged abuse by Combs. Its author, Chris Todd, told Rolling Stone he could not guarantee the contents were authentic, and Porter’s associates said she had not known him. Combs’ legal team called the book a “wholesale fabrication.”10Vanity Fair. Kim Porter Memoir and Diddy Conspiracies No law enforcement agency has opened an investigation into her death beyond the original coroner’s examination.

The 1991 City College Stampede

This is the only event in which Combs has been found legally responsible for deaths, and the finding was civil, not criminal. On December 28, 1991, nine people died and roughly 30 were injured in a crowd crush at a celebrity charity basketball game at the City College of New York in Harlem. Combs, then a 22-year-old intern at Uptown Records, co-organized and promoted the event with rapper Heavy D. The gymnasium held about 2,730 people; roughly 5,000 tried to attend. After the doors were closed at capacity, a crush developed in the lobby and stairwell. Eight people died at the scene from suffocation, and one more died at the hospital.12People. Police declined to pursue criminal charges against the organizers. In 1998, a judge found Combs and Heavy D 50% liable for the deaths and injuries, with New York State sharing the remaining blame. The case settled for $3.8 million; Combs paid about $750,000, roughly 20% of the total.12People. What Was the City College Stampede

The 1999 Club New York Shooting

On December 27, 1999, three people were wounded in a shooting at Club New York in Manhattan. Combs was there with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, his bodyguard Anthony “Wolf” Jones, and rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow. Combs and Lopez led police on a car chase afterward, and a stolen gun was recovered from their vehicle.13Forbes. Why the 1999 Shooting Where Diddy and Jennifer Lopez Were Arrested Has New Attention

Combs and Jones were charged with weapons possession and with bribery for allegedly offering their driver $50,000 to claim the gun was his. Both were acquitted in March 2001. Charges against Lopez were dropped earlier. Shyne was convicted of assault, gun possession, and reckless endangerment, acquitted of attempted murder, and served nearly nine years. No one was ever convicted of the shooting itself. Combs settled a civil suit with the three victims in 2011 for an undisclosed sum. One of the wounded, Natania Reuben, has continued to maintain that Combs shot her and has called for the case to be reopened.13Forbes. Jones, the bodyguard acquitted alongside Combs, was shot and killed outside an Atlanta nightclub on November 12, 2003. Authorities said the killing followed an argument over a woman, and Demetrius Flenory was charged with two counts of homicide. Nothing in the record links Combs to the circumstances of Jones’ death.14UPI. Combs’ Friend Killed in Atlanta Shooting

What Combs Was Actually Convicted Of

Combs’ current prison sentence has nothing to do with any killing. Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York indicted him in September 2024 on racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.15U.S. Department of Justice.
